awesome work thanks for the footage. the sweet sound of hard work , tools clanking and minimal talking.

When working at Grumman my favorite job on the F-14 engines was installing large conical 'FOD' screens before the first engine run up. Before installation started we inspected the inlets, and the first 3 sets of compressor blades. Then got an inspector to 'sign it off'.

One thing for sure, NO BLOODY ROBOTS will ever replace these guy's
@kninezbanks
@kninezbanks 5 лет назад
"Ever" is a very strong word....at some point people thought no one would "ever" go above the clouds.....robots, like all tech, get better year after year in terms of computational power, hardware and software....Maybe not older engines....but there will be newer engines designed specifically to be manufactured, taken apart and maintained by highly advanced A.I (Artificial Intelligence) guided robots decades to hundreds of years from now.......Most current jobs will be obsolete by then.

Robots already have. In fact, a "robot" as you call it is the only thing keeping this aircraft in the air.

Designed by PH.Ds, flown by college graduates, maintained by high school graduates. So it is with every weapons system.

actually you copied the phrase wrong - it's designed by PHDs, built guys with masters, flown by guys with bachelors and maintained by high school grads.

@geoffmorgan6059
@geoffmorgan6059 6 лет назад
MS21250 the current standard for 12 point fasteners is in English or Imperial measure. Not sure any aerospace specialty systems use metric, probably, just don't know. It can prevent sub standard auto fasteners from being used, but not hardware store bits.
@alfredozertuche784
@alfredozertuche784 6 лет назад
I never saw a metric wrench ever in the snap-on gangbox. All tools were standard and all hardware as well. That was being a mechanic on HH-60 pavehawk, UH-60 Blackhawk, AH-64 apache longbow, n-model huey and OH-58 kiowa.
