Dream Viper Team
Senior Captain Steven De Vries, better known as “Vrieske”, from the Belgian Air Force is the first F-16 Pilot outside the US to have surpassed the 5,000 hours on the mighty Viper. Vrieske started his career on F-16 at the age of 21.
The F-16AM Viper
Officially nicknamed the Fighting Falcon, but dubbed by the pilots as the 'Viper' because of it's extreme agility.
The Belgian Air Force was one of the first four international customers for the F-16 Fighting Falcon. Belgium ordered a total of 160 F-16s in two batches. Heavy attrition and restructuring of the armed forces reduced the operational inventory to 54 aircraft. The remaining aircraft have been stored or sold (14 to Jordan for example).
Although the entire inventory consists of F-16A and F-16B models, all 54 remaining operational aircraft have been upgraded to MLU standard.
The General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole fighter aircraft originally developed by General Dynamics for the United States Air Force (USAF). Designed as an air superiority day fighter, it evolved into a successful all-weather multirole aircraft. Over 4,600 aircraft have been built since production was approved in 1976.
The Fighting Falcon's key features include a frameless bubble canopy for good visibility, side-mounted control stick to ease control while maneuvering, an ejection seat reclined 30 degrees from vertical to reduce the effect of g-forces on the pilot, and the first use of a relaxed static stability/fly-by-wire flight control system that helps to make it an agile aircraft. The F-16 has an internal M61 Vulcan cannon and 11 locations for mounting weapons and other mission equipment. The F-16's official name is "Fighting Falcon", but "Viper" is commonly used by its pilots and crews, because of a perceived resemblance to a viper snake as well as to the fictional Colonial Viper starfighter from the television program Battlestar Galactica which aired at the time the F-16 entered service.

Turku Airshow 2023
The annual main airshow is the biggest aviation event each year in Finland. Airshow is organized every year in different city / airport to cover the whole country. The main airshow returns now to Turku after four years. Previous shows were at Turku 2019 and 2015. Finland’s main annual airshow is also the main annual airshow for Finnish Air Force, Army Aviation and Border Guard. Therefore the airshow is organized with close co-operation with them.
The previous Turku Airshow was organized in 2019, Swedish Gripen, USAF C-17A, Finnish F/A-18 Hornet and CRJ900NG to name few participants.
