This is simply how you say good bye! Watch as the F-22 takes off without any afterburner but then plugs it in just before a really steep climb! The F-22 you see in the video is from Tyndall AFB.

When I was attending the FAA academy, one of their favorite ways of getting you to bust a busy training problem was having an underlying approach control call up with a request for a unrestricted climb that usually put them right through some other traffic. In real life, the few times I’ve gotten a call for one there isn’t anyone around for miles. I’ve approved them climbing all the way up to their cruise altitude just to watch how quickly they get up there. Having one move for traffic is fun too, ask them to climb 2000’ to miss another aircraft, and more often than not, they’ll be there in about 2-3 sweeps of the radar, or about 20-30 seconds. For perspective, you usually have to give most commercial aircraft at least a minute and a half or two minutes to make the same altitude change.

I live 1 mile from Savannah/Hilton Head Airport, same airport in video, and was just in my front yard watching 5 f-22s go into a vertical climb. Standing in the grass you can feel the ground vibrating and the sound waves literally rumble your body. Between the sound, vibrations and and knowing that fighter is on my side is an intense feeling that can't be explained.

IT WAS when I posted this at 9:30 this morning. There isn't a squadron permanently stationed in Savannah, but they routinely just appear for 10 days then reappear a month or two later. When they take off, they head straight over the Atlantic and can only be seen from a distance in my front yard. However, when they come back in they pass the airport and bank almost directly above my house to come back in for landing approach. At that point, they're between 1,300' to 1,800' above me which is low. They've been shaking my house since last Sunday......and I'm cool with it!

When I was a kid I grew up with just about every active Air Force aircraft flying low over my house except the F-22. It just wasn't around...but I can say the C-5 galaxy is a sight to see in flight flying low...it looks like it just defies physics and just simply shouldn't be able to fly.

Pretty impressive. In 1977 I was at the gate on a TWA flight. I looked across the field, the McDonald-Douglas plant was over there. Out came a completely grey aircraft. It was an F-15, the first I had ever seen. The pilot taxied down their runway and put on the brakes. The exhaust plume was huge!. When he let go that plane looked like it had been sling shot. He used very little runway and then went immediately vertical. Yee-haa indeed, I could feel the power in my seat.

I had a thrilling experience several years back. It was lunch time and I was working construction on board Cherry Point Air Base in Havelock N.C. Me and a coworker were at the end of the runway down by the river.I was showing him where I had good luck fishing previously. We were about to leave and go back to work when we heard one of the jets taking off,coming straight at us. As it approached right over our heads ,maybe a hundred feet up, it pulled straight up and throttled up. It was exhilarating looking straight up into the twin afterburner as it climbed out of site. A once in a lifetime expierence most likely.

MY critical Opinion as an Aerospace engineer. *First it needs long to acellerate. Dont know if the engines are strong enough. *Then it flies a little bit longer streight ahead to gain speed.... *Then it switches 90° to climb. * You can see the abortion of climb MAYBE through insufficient power demand for further climb. I think this AC can do more. All in all great AC but it isnt a wonder AC

@@RobertManningRMvideos Yeah, this fighter holds the unique distinction of being universally accepted as the endgame of modern (and near future) aircraft. This honor is coming from pilots, engineers, and analysts from all nations and walks of life. Its always strange to see someone obscure criticize the Raptor when the best of the best praise this plane like a saint. Even with its high cost, increasing age, maintenance issues, and flaws, this jet, even rusted, glitching, and stupid expensive, can still outclass anything in modern combat, whether it flies or not. The Raptor is ridiculously far ahead of its time, and to see people attack it, especially from a "professional" background, is suspicious on their own part.

Nice bullshit story. SR71s are not fighters they cannot go vertical. They have a Glimit of something around 3g (EDIT: only 2G), and way less than .5 to 1 power to weight ratio with full burners. They also have a climb rate about 1/4 to 1/5 of a fighter so no vertical for SR71. You havent seen anything like it because it was in your dreams. Loser.

I love the F-15. I got about a little over 1 minute in this video- maybe older generation engines if they have upgraded-don't know. We have to believe the U.S can do better, however. And I believe they have. Don't count us out yet like so many have. 70,000 lb thrust vs. I believe 48,000 for the F-15. True the F-22 weighs in at 80,000 lb. Don't know about the F-15. Imagine 70,000 lb thrust for a rate to climb record in a stripped down F-22, no coating on the surface as the streak eagle, no internal simulated bomb loading or full fuel tanks. Nothing can replace the F-15's survice to our great country! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8_f8MOXh7qw.html

**I do this all the time in my car, whenever I'm driving up a really steep hill. I'll just keep the throttle down, until I reach the zenith of the hill. Then I back off the throttle, as my car 'levels out', now that the road is no longer going upwards. It's basically exactly the same thing as what's happening with the plane in this video!** Lol

There's a Utoob vid of a mig-29 doing a way more radical climb and it will make you sick to your stomach watching....look it up mig/vertical/takeoff search words several vids but it's the one that shows jet lift barely accelerate to full then pull back on joystick 20feet off the ground

A 747 would probably fall apart under those stresses, and even if it is sturdy enough, its not exactly plesant for the passangers who have zero high G training/experience

Do those things not stall? I dont know much abt planes, so correct me if Im wrong, but surely if the angle of attack is to high the plane should stall right?
@joaco-jb7cv
@joaco-jb7cv 5 лет назад
im no pro either but stall happens when airspeed is too low and control surfaces dont do anything so unless the aircraft can retain its speed at that angle it will eventually stall
@ninthcloud6331
@ninthcloud6331 5 лет назад
Lol also not a pro but the F22 from what I understand is the most unstallable plane in the world
@mitebee
@mitebee 5 лет назад
No pro either but I believe it's that at high angles of attack, this type of wing creates a vortex above the wing leading back from where the leading edge meets the fuselage, and this is what keeps it in the air as opposed to traditional lift. Sometimes you can see the vortex as water vapor.

I will always be a f-15 fanatic. I know the F-15 is not as stealthy, and I know the raptor is supposed to be able to kill the F-15 at a very long range, before the F-15 even knows what is going on, but the eagle was part of my childhood, and I still think it would have a fighting chance in a close in fight.
@kevinkelley3657
@kevinkelley3657 5 лет назад
Yeah, I was born in '72, and I remember Top Gun very well, I was in 10th grade I think when it came out. The f14 is a close 2nd in my book. The guys who flew the f14 said it did not fly like a large plane at all.
@kevinkelley3657
@kevinkelley3657 5 лет назад
The F4 was described by the pilots that flew it as something like a "supersonic school bus". I think the F4 was probably the most capable fighter of its era, but I also don't think it was nearly as good as the F15. I understand that we all have special places in our hearts and minds for the big dog aircraft of our times, I get it.
