This R-22 Raptor had its' EDF engine replaced by 2 outrunner motors I mounted in the wings. I got the idea from the Flight test channel where they showed how they had converted the jet into a 3D acribatic plane. There is a link to their video at the end of the description that shkws the construction.
This was its' first flight and the outrunner motors provide much more power than the EDF, especially at low speeds. The plane flew suprisingly well, a little tail heavy, but that should work well when it it time to hover it. This test had just a couple of loops and some barrel rolls. The next flights will test its' 3D capability. Amazing first flight! I didn't even need to touch the trims.
