F-35B Lightning vs Eurofighter Typhoon Compares Two of the UK's Most Advanced Fighter Jets 

Typhoon and F35 are built for different things, F35 is an advanced multirole aircraft and Typhoon is an advanced air superiority fighter. While the F35 can take on air to air missions as part of its multirole capability, the Typhoon was tailor made for it. Like wise, the Typhoon can take on ground strike missions but F35 was made with that in mind. The two may overlap but their purpose is different

These two jets working together will be a formidable force. F35 working as the quarter back for the typhoon.

Typhoon has 13 hard points, not 12 mate. And as of the Engines, we know the F-35-has the mist powerful single engine of any fighter ever, but the Typhoon has a much better power to weight ratio, fast climb rate, better maneuver ability, at slow and higher speeds, more economical even with two engines, it's the best swingrole multimissions fighter aircraft but to dogfight, short range interception,(SRAAM's), long range interception,(Meteor) and now so ground attack, interdiction, deep strike,(Stormshadow) anti ship,(MARTE ER), Close Air Support,(Brimstone), I suppose they could even out the Martlet lightweight missiles too, a higher top altitude, lager flight envelope, as well as low observability, and can hold 9G's sustainably for longer than any higher on the market, and it will probably do even more they haven't thought of yet. Together, they should be unbeatable.

I was hoping that the UK would buy F35A version to compliment the amazing Typhoon, but it’s not my money.

Two different generation Aircraft. One is an Air Supremacy Dogfighter the other kills you whilst in Stealth mode. Both can do multi roles but only one is truly advanced and that is the F35. Having both Aircraft compliment each other.

The F35 is a superslik Harrier replacement for close troop support, it doubles up with airfield support capabilities . The Typhoon would just push an F35 into the ground .

A very informative video, thank you. I saw both planes in the hills of the Lake District last week, first a Typhoon flew out the clouds overhead, rolled a few times then flew off at some pace, it was incredible to watch! Later on further down the hill, we saw an F-15 leading 4 F-35's on the way past Ambleside heading to Keswick, really cool but the Typhoon display won me over compared to the fat, ugly Lightnings flying past. :)

The only limiting factor in jets at the moment is humans. Bring on the drones. Imagine a great pilot sat at his dining table, Pulling 30 Gs with no effect, Sipping his coffee

Some very badly researched information in this video, alongside some credible facts. The trouble is, bad information feeds viewers and they get a picture they see as factual. The truth however regarding engines, performance, roles, running costs, capabilities of platforms is very far removed from this video but is consumed as factual, leading people down the wrong path of understanding.

Typhoon is the best

Red flag combat is showing the F35 is beating it’s competition including the Eurofighter etc in combat not because of Top Gun style close combat but simply because the F35 sees the enemy and cannot be seen. It can then either attack that enemy or hand over the info to a ship or another plane to fire on that enemy . In the words of one Top Gun “ we have rookies in a F35 besting Top Guns in a F16” it’s a different type of plane for a different type of battle.

The air force would not relese the true potential of their fighter jets.

The f35 has had its software unlocked so it can complete 9g + turms.The software has caught up with the hardware.They would not tell you the true specs of these things we will be quite suprised by this f35 i think. Dont underestamate the f35.

These are NOT competing aircraft and were never designed to be. They both service air attack/defence in different areas and provide a complete air superiority package. These dumb comparison videos only provide light entertainment but no facts. There isn't a fighter plane in the world that has total air defense/attack capability for every combat situation. That's why most countries have multiple aircraft types.

In a bvr engagement, they are both same family, so they would use the exact same tactics and equipment/support. No point in speculating as it's 50/50. In a dogfight, the typhoon will be able to sit inside the f35s turn and the f35 will out rate the typhoon. However, it's dependant on the skill of the pilot. Easy, really. Oh and the F22 would catch both of them lacking as they are returning to base 😂

Misleading information. The F-35 is so far beyond 4th generation jets in its capabilities that this video is ridiculous.

Both of them are already old. The Chinese are making already fighters that are very competitive to these and they can make a lot more than the americans can. The Eurofighter should be updated. The F35 is just an abortion of a plane. Anyway both of them can still win against the Chinese fighters just because the weapons systems are much more advanced. But i don't think for long.
