Seeing fighters leap into the sky never gets old. I started in the 70’s as an enlisted working the flightline watching Phantoms do it. Touch and go was a highlight.

The Goat! I was F-111A/EF-111A at The Goat. Even the paint colors are the same. I wonder if the 366th is still there? Long live the base! For you Air Force guys! Mtn Home get's a bad reputation in the Air Force. That reputation is not well earned. For hunters, fisherman, and general outdoors activities it is hard to beat The Goat! Mountains, lakes, rivers, and streams are near impossible to match anywhere there is an active Air Force base. Boise is just 50 miles away! I went there to get the hell out of New Hampshire! I ended up getting married, had 3 kids, and stayed over 10 years. It is not a bad place at all.

Giant Voice 82, maintaining RAAF F-111C aircraft. Snowed the day before we left, the only snow experience I've had in my whole life.

Yeah the 366 FW is still here. I'm stationed there right now lol. I was also here for these bad boys and they are way louder than our 15s lol

Cool video! Here in Western Massachusetts the 104th FW/131st FS Westfield,Ma will be transitioning to F-35s from F-15c/d by 2026..my dad retired from Barnes in 1997 E-8…26 yrs…my dad could multi-task very well..he was in charge of Egress (ACESII) also DCC on78-0632 on B flight when on deployment..He was a great NCO ..very well liked! Now he has Alzheimer’s and Dementia…he’s 76.

@Blob B poor visibility in all cockpits due to the b model needing a lift fan. Notice no F35 model can see behind. Pilots are critical of the helmet system which was designed to over come this. Poor combat range in all models - again to reduce overall size/weight of the aircraft so it can b model can retain stovl capabilities. This Also links in with limited payload capacity. Cost blowouts/ delays due to issues with the F 35 b model. Most counties operating it need to mount external fuel tanks / weapons stores which makes it not so stealthy…
