I can't understand why, @ 5:34 on that near-pass from L to R, your gear was down, in fact throughout the whole 1st flight?? Other than that, great plane, flying & landing!!

That was phenomenal! The only thing that could have improved that flight would be if we could simulate the black exhaust smoke. Twin smoke trails would have been so realistic. And let's give it up for that landing!!! Pure BUTTER!!! 👏 👏 👏

Could an Average Joe, (Such as Myself) with limited Model building skills, successfully put together maybe a Skymaster F4 phantom or an F14 Tomcat? I like warbirds..

I would say, F4 Yes. The F14 May be a fairly big challenge.

The attention to detail is awesome, plus the weathered look from being at sea in a salt water enviroment. I was on active duty with VF-154 Black Knights with F4-J's Phantoms. Made 1976 Westpac Bicentennial Cruise onboard USS Ranger CV-61. Brings back memories.

Yer take offs are not true to scale. You need to hold it on the runway longer. This is a very heavy fighter. But once aloft, oh brother it becomes a absolute fighting terror.

Thanks. I don't think the pilot cares so much about the scaleness of the take off. Especially on the maiden flight. Get her up flying for the first flight.

Nice maiden. It flew great! Once you do the cg checks Jonathan, you should fill the tanks and publish the AUW. It would be nice to know real world weights.

Thank you. Pretty easy to figure out as we are always getting the fuel volume after the builds. So plane weighs 37 Lbs I think. 6L of fuel on board. 1.8lbs per L. So take off weight 47.8 Lbs.

Fact! As a young airmen in the Air Force I worked on the drogue chute and Martin Baker ejector seat in the F4 Phantom back in the early 80’s.
