@@mrjpz relocate the high low range selector and chop the stick down. if he can manage to to put that truck together he could dot that but some people actually like that aesthetic....for some reason.
@@mrjpz its like the dudes with bars so high on their bikes their arms are above their heads. there is no way in hell that gives you better control of a motorcycle they still do it. like i said love the truck love the setup but yea chop the stick way way down and put an 8 ball or something on it for a knob. move the hi-low down the stick or just somewhere else. in that truck you would need low almost ever.
I don't understand why the shifter has to "rub" the headliner. Explain for an old guy? It was a question, nothing more. When I drove we shortened the shifters, except for on twin sticks. They needed to be long, so ya could reach through the steering wheel and shift both at the same time. All yall here just looking to argue, GO AWAY!
It’s high yes, but actually about 5” shorter than the stock shaft originally was. The transmission is in the trans tunnel unlike a semi 6” under the main floor. I knew it would rub people the wrong way. Everyone has a right to an opinion :)
Dude, do the upgrades to the air controls and the splitter box to make it an 18 speed. It’s simple to do and it’s really good for hauling even in a F550, you’ll still be able to drive it like a 9 or 13 speed if your not hauling anything.
LOL needs to be longer!!! If it goin thru the sun roof it ain't long enough! I miss shifting gears. My company went to automatic transmissions in 2012. Shifting was something to do I guess when we weren't working. Take care
Now this is cool as hell, you Hotshot I take it? And where'd the pull the EF13 from? What's that final drive ratio? So many questions lol. Thanks for sharing!
Don't judge me too harshly for this question because I really don't know and I'm just guessing here lol. But that little switch/button on the shifter is to go into the higher gears right?.. Didn't even know you could set up your pickup truck with such a transmission that's pretty damn cool. I assuming once again that this would be more for towing than just for the hell of it all. Definitely interesting stuff to see. And before anyone asks me, Yes I totally am a weekend warrior with just a bit more skill/brains lol.. Or so I hope!. 😂😂
When you want a semi truck with a bunch a gears but also want the driveability of a truck at the same time which you don’t want anyone to laugh at you about so you get a fummins *sorry Chevy guys but your brand just ain’t that good
Its gear floating, shifting without a clutch. The delay between shifts is letting the rpms naturally drop letting you get into that gear without the clutch and also keeping a tempo like a metronome. Watch some videos of big rigs gear floating, it's more noticable on 10 Speed Transmissions where the typical rpm gap between gears is about 500 rpms. A 13 Speed like in the video above has a similar gap in the lower range of gears, but if you notice The red switch he flicks at higher speeds. That splits the gear in half effectively reducing the rpm drop to about 250-300rpms depending on his rear ends. Fun stuff! 18 Speeds have the lowest rpm drop since you can split every gear.
@@LongHaulRob you have the same pause in double clutching. I learnt to double clutch by saying double clutch as I was shifting. It should take no more then that long to shift it.
Only downside to this I could see would be the length and angle of the shifter. I’d gladly put an 8ll in a 550 with a Cummins under the hood. I talk about shit like this all the time
