@@MikeSakaru lmao true it's not Carl that needs to be protected. It's all the people between him and himself I'm worried about. Those poor cats might be mistaken. XD
Two possibilities for the spring’s disappearance: 1. It fell through the block once it was hit, but when a block is in the middle of its being hit animation and a p-switch is activated, the block becomes solid for one frame, and since the spring is inside it, it disintegrates. 2. There is no jank. The game is working as Nintended.
Pretty sure he just hit the block before it transformed and it got crushed. You can see the spring get pushed up towards the spike before poofing into smoke.
Kain Yusanagi I’m pretty sure it doesn’t do that with a spike above it. It definitely doesn’t happen with normal blocks above the spring. There’s likely nothing wrong. It’s normal.
I was playing a troll level the other day and it had this one perfectly placed off screen thwomp. I was having a lot of trouble trying to guess where it was, but then it hit me.
Literally a sign that says, "No fire flower." Carl: "If I only had a mushroom, then I can get through that." If only there was some way that you could tell that in the level.
Thanks for keeping it clean! My 5 year old loves these. He was cracking up when you were doing your stuck thwamp impression. Look forward to watching more with him.
Always check the description before watching. We upload censored versions of videos that have swears on them. If there is no link it means the video is clean
Stopping by to advise everybody to not demonize bats, they didn’t decide to start a plague and the pangolin is the reason COVID could even transfer from them to us in the first place Also, is it just me or are the P-Blocks used more as markers than... well, P-Blocks? Probably one of the most helpful markers in the entire game!
Which is also why pangolin scales and a good deal of Chinese traditional medicine should be banned. But then again convince a country of 1.5B people to change their culture. It’s going to be tough...
@Top Secret TBH, there are probably ways to use pangolin scales without exposing more people to diseases, like disinfecting them. Plus, like, probably 99.99% of the time, the vast majority of traditional Chinese medicine is essentially harmless but useless at worst. Unfortunately, you have like 1.5 billion people who use it (yes, many citizens/residents of China do favor modern medicine over traditional remedies, but there are also many _outside_ of China who trust traditional remedies, so let’s keep sticking with 1.5 billion as a ballpark figure), so even if 99.99% of them are no worse off after treatment than before, that’s still 150,000 people who get harmed. And while modern medicine can also have some nonzero (though still quite low) chance of doing harm (unfortunately), it has a far better chance of doing good when used as intended than traditional Chinese medicine. Still, the main problem is generally using traditional remedies _instead of_ using modern medicine. Using both is usually fine. Also, pangolins weren’t (and usually aren’t) necessarily more likely to carry a potentially dangerous virus than many other animals that we use all the time, so I wouldn’t really blame the general practice of using pangolin scales as a remedy itself for the pandemic any more than the bats. Yes, there was a causal relation in this particular case, but it wasn’t exactly foreseeable, nor would it have been detected by using scientific research on the effects of using pangolin scales on humans (or bats). Maybe if they were sterilized or something, that could have helped, but other than that, I don’t think that modern science would have seen anything about use of pangolin scales as a remedy that would be worse or less effective than a placebo. Traditional Chinese medicine is generally quack medicine, sure, but it’s not like using chelation to “treat” autism or so-called “conversion camps”, nor is it as dangerous as the antivaccine movement. I don’t believe this was anything more than a fluke. I don’t encourage the use of pangolin scales as a remedy, but I don’t think that it’s all that bad either if modern treatments are also used.
@Christian Flaherty: Sequel Edition Re:P-blocks, I think the reason they’re used this way is similar to the use of tracks: under many circumstances, they don’t affect Mario or most other objects in the game most of the time, and they can be made into many shapes to indicate different things. As for their lack of use in the intended manner, that requires the use of a P-Switch (which isn’t always useful in a level), many of their properties can be replaced with either coins and Brick/Spin Blocks (with the P-Switch) or a combination of On/Off Switch(es) and Dotted-Line Blocks. Plus, in troll levels, specifically, P-Blocks used as intended can actually signal trolls, which is often undesirable. P-Blocks are useful (as intended) if you don’t want them to switch on or off on a timer (but not toggled repeatedly in a rhythm or by something else) _and_ you don’t want them to be destroyed/collected (or knocked down by a POW Block, Red POW Block, or Red POW Box) like coins and Brick/Spin Blocks can be. Furthermore, the creator must design their use with the other properties of the P Switch (as opposed to an On/Off Switch) in mind: Conveyor Belts stop moving while they’re active, they can be picked up and carried in all but SMB style (unless they’re attached to a ceiling), they can only be activated by a step, jump, or falling object from above (unless, again, they’re attached to a ceiling, in which case they can only be activated by being hit from below), they’re affected by gravity when not attached to a ceiling, they can only be used once, they also switch coins and Brick Blocks/Spin Blocks while active, the music changed while they’re active, and they can spawn from pipes, blocks, or Bill Blasters.
MCRedCreeper Pangolins are an animal species originating in Africa. They have scales which overlap which give them protection, and feed on exposed ant nests like anteaters. But they are trafficked and killed for the scales which are an insignificant ingredient of Chinese traditional medicine. It’s a fair industry when a nation of 25-50 million operate and can handle a balanced number of Pangolins, but 1.5 Billion people practically enabled to buy these products? It’s murder.
I hadn't seen the Harry Potter Puppet Song in well over a decade. This morning while showering, it OUT OF NOWHERE comes to my mind. Legit, Out. Of. Nowhere. WHY. In god's name. WAS THAT VIDEO REFERENCED BY CARL. IN THE SAME FREAKING DAY?! ...this world is so peculiar.
I used to just watch you casually and laugh at your troll videos, but viewing your educational part of the video just earned you a sub from me. :) Also, I have a suggestion of having that sort of stuff somewhere NOT at the end of the video, just so that fewer people will miss it and more people can be enlightened with a little bit more big-brain knowledge in their life. But I still loved it, I appreciate your inclusion of that.
Carl should go on family feud with other Mario Maker streamers and just completely troll the competitors. For example: Steve: Name something that’s very embarrassing to get stuck in. Carl: The carlbox
Im checking all videos of carl cuz i havent been wstching any mario but mostly i want to hear him talk about the corona virus cuz he is so damn fucking smart
1970s humor wasn't necessarily better, but the function of F in gamer/nerd circles fits the "memorandum of comedic understanding" described here: slate.com/culture/2019/09/2019-gist-comedy-evolution-cancel.html
I would 100% watch carl explain everything about the coronavirus, or anything really. When is carl going to have another science video up? Last one is already a few years ago. Much love to carl, you are an expert at explaining all this in a simple way.
I can sorta back up the statement he made about drugs at the start. Medicenet is an adhd repressing drug however its essentially speed yet they are completely different
Just realized that Carl missed the pro gamer strat of jumping over the Boom Booms in the first level. Disappointing that he couldn’t experience that, but oh well.
I didn't realize that people misunderstood the reason people say that meth(methamphetamine) and Adderall (amphetamine) are similar is because of how different the reaction the body has to them
OKAY THIS THIS IS THE BEST CP1 FAKEOUT I'VE SEEN Personally I'm not a big fan of the trend of "CP1 haha jk, here's the end", but THIS one did it so perfectly "Here's a CP1" "Haha, jk, you can die if you want" "Psych, no death for you" "Anyway here's the end *if* you didn't try to die like I know you did, Carl" Fucking beautiful
since there are fictional titles like strongest archaeologist, strongest alchemist and strongest goldsmith, is it possible that carl be the strongest biologist?
I think it's clear to see that Carl thinks F means aweso ... Random person runs in and says: What kind of a dummy are you! F means ... Wait I don't know what F means. Random person: cries while fainting.
When I played that Troll level I never got CP oned because I never hit the hidden block near the goal so then all did was fall back down same hole and beat the level.
Hello Carl, I have some positive feedback for you. I've seen 2 or 3 other streamers play this troll level already, but I'm watching you play it because you are content unto yourself!
