As the previous owner of this car, if I was ever going change the car from stock it would of got a blower, so I’m team blower! Can’t wait to see what you do with it john!
Dale Jarrett (don't run into many of them fans)....nicely kept car though...and he should keep the engine and go C/H keep it as original as possible and spice up what you got, especially if you want it as a daily driver
I like where you’re going with this. I love your plans of the 403 with the supercharger. Throw an twin disc clutch in it with an upgraded 6 speed and 9”. Lower it like you said, but keep or improve the ride quality. Restore or reupholster your interior, put a nice stereo in and just enjoy the car.
Boost District LSA or a Magnuson or Whipple blower, whatever will fit under the hood best. Then get rid of the dual exhaust and do the 4” single exit. Lowered on a set of Fikse Profil 5 wheels to give it that clean signature look that works so well on F-body Camaros. Then maybe wrap it a different color!
I love the fact that you're building my budget car. Just make sure that you really make it budget and not John Doc budget lol like you might need to get Phill back 😂 buti love the idea of a blower I would even look at procharger ..that's what I'm doing on my 99. But KB is hard to beat 😊 I'm super excited to see this and the Cow get up and rolling
All the go fast motor stuff sounds great! DO THE KENNY BELL to be different from everyone else with an LS car…. But please, build it to handle and take turns. Let’s see if the qa1 mod shocks can give a good daily ride, adjust them for a few passes at the drag strip, but most importantly make it handle great for some road racing track days!!! Full BMR treatment, starting with their double diamond subframe connectors and the short, tunnel mount torque arm!!!
Had a 02 ss same color and all but automatic 6yrs ago just got another on same color but z28 love driving it it's bone stock my ss had heads cam intake stall 8.8 rear end with 373s headers full exhaust something about stock is fun for now but I'm getting that itch for more power again lol
LQ engine with a 4" stroker kit ,with LS3 heads and LSA blower. Dual Speed Engineering long tube headers and exhaust, camshaft and springs, aftermarket 12 bolt rear end. Umi or bmr suspension. Strano fays 2 watts link and lowering springs or Vikings coil overs front and rear. 🤔
I've got Kooks long tubes and an SLP loudmouth with cat delete and it sounds awesome to me it's loud but not obnoxiously so. I put a tick street heat stage 2 cam in it and it has the 243 heads and ls6 intake and it runs pretty good. Suspension wise it has just about everything from bmr, but the mod that made the most difference was weld in subframe connectors. The t-top cars have a lot of chassis flex in them but after the connectors and a strut tower brace it stiffened the chassis up considerably and the difference is like night and day, I can't reccomend those enough. I'm sure your build is going to come out nice and I can't wait to see it happen, good luck!
SLP Loudmouth with cat delete and LTH is VERY obnoxiously loud. There's a difference in sounding good and being loud. Too many people these days especially youngsters mistake loud for sounding good. And all they do is make their neighbors hate them and their cars.
Had a 4th gen as my first car, always a special place for em. All the F-body guys know if you ever do wanna go budget on tubular suspension and chassis, Spohn is where it's at if you don't wanna pay UMI or BMR prices, but personally I like those two. There are other brands but they're kinda here, there and everywhere or won't have the full selection the other 3 have.
Fbodys is pure american racing performance. Glad to be an owner of one. Ive had two in my life so far both with the ls1. Hopefully ill be getting a firebird next to add to my collection
Definitely lower it, Cam/FBO. I definitely recommend doing the mid mount tq arm for when you lower it can get the pinion angle right and some nice clean chrome staggered zr1 wheels would really make it pop and tires are still cheap.
Sweet build love the idea of having a street/daily driver... I am sure 450- 550 ponies will suit your desire just fine. In my opinion that is the perfect Power for a daily. Reliable cruiser one you can have fun with that can take the abuse of smoking some tires. My third gen cost me every few months a new rear seat. These things are torque monsters perfect for smoking rubber.....
Put your other bottom end, cam, springs, oil pump, headers, rear gears, lowering springs, window tint, and maybe a torque arm to adjust pinion angle. Be a fun daily . Maybe put a 150 shot on it. Pray the 6 speed holds lol
Huron Speed A/C kit with a piston and rod 6.0, Jose big t4, s491 frame...or like you said, a healthy 12.5:1 e85 motor with good heads, etc. Make ~600ish whp on motor, maybe a lil plate 150 shot or something..? It'll move, I Daily drove my 02 Camaro with a 11.7:1 403, TH350 and 8" converter for well over 3yrs., plus the track time and it was still pretty fresh with 15k on it. E85 would definitely help!
Dude is right, I just bought my first 4th gen Camaro LS1 and I had to grind everyday. Always working and saving almost every penny. I'm on disability and I went got me a part time job at family dollar just so I could get the funds together. It's worth it. Now I've got my dream car. It's not perfect but I got the car it runs great after I grinded some more and worked on it. Grind and save that's all you got to do
Snakebite! The single car video i’ve watch the most since I was a kid. Kenne Bell blower on a stick LS1 with a thumpy cam even if its 500-600hp car it would be fun as hell on the street until that 10 bolt pukes its guts. Just don’t put a sticky tire on it.
From what I can here from your words. keep it simple! You, are looking to amp it up in a few different ways. Do the John mild build, keeping the NASTY out, so you don't have to wrench on it all the time, rather, jump into it anytime for a spiced up dependable ride. You already know what is going to happen if you go bonkers on it. rock on.
Cam , pro charger - nothing sounds like a pro charger-headers long tubes new oil pump new fuel system should be a rocket. And the best give away you have had so far!!!
Mine is a 94 with hooker exhaust. Nice daily , she looks real nice ! Have some motor work from the previous owner. Good price on the motor, gold to someone.
Well here is my input it needs a PSR turbo their pretty reasonable on their price and they work good my sons single cam Honda went from a max speeding rods turbo to a PSR and makes 550 to the wheels
I wanna know what the lamb cam would be like with a blower like a whipple or similar or tkm can make you a cam for a roots blower and if it works out we can all buy it!
I say mod it like all us normies would. Start with bolt ons and see how fast you can go, then cam only, then heads/cam then nitrous. Then go bigger motor, nitrous and then blower… try and set records/beat personal times throughout. Creates good/relatable content and storyline and also gives you something to strive for as you go
You’ll wake up with one if you win it. It’s literally impossible to have a T-top F body without a mullet unless male pattern baldness runs in the family.😂
A terminator x ecu running the engine with a hcr harness running the engine, with the stock ecu running everything else would be a super worthwhile mod on that thing! The ecu in those things and deal with hp tuners sucks
Dude! Badass Camaro!! Fuckin love these builds!! More plz!🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲💪💪💪 I challenge u to keep the LS1 but put forged internals and a Kong ported LSA blower on her!
Ok so we get to say what to do, 😂😂😂 pull the ls1 ,drop in a LSX454 after cam swapping that, and porting the heads, build the trans, drop in a 12 bolt, o.
bro my ls1 is 95k miles. my brother blew it up at 93k... and bro i rebuilt shortblock put new stock oil pump on but im only gettin like 55 psi wot at like 5.5-6k rpm.... any ideas :/ funny part is its better than before
