@@supsunny99 Yes you are right, I should have been more clear. In this situation where there is a choice to shoot the kid and the supposed nun. The sniper took the shot, after she handed the gernade to the kid. The decision to shoot was handed back to the sniper, by the commad his spotter radioed.This is the crux of it, where the blame will land. The sniper can be wrong for taking the shot too soon, because of intent or shooting too late and resulting injury or death to fellow troops. This scenario can play either way for his superiors to come out just fine and the sniper get a term in military prison. I was a victim of something quite similar. There is an old adage If an officer gets prompted the enlisted man might get a metal, if the officer is not promoted the enlisted man will get a court-martial. Hope this explains it. I was in Vietnam. Saw too many hurt, and too many wrongful punished so some incompetent could save his a$$.

According to Wikipedia, the RKG anti-tank grenade is a shaped charge weapon specifically designed to penetrate armor. But I doubt it'd be effective against an Abrams tank as the design and manufacture of it predates Chobham armor

It has been an accepted rule of war in the modern era that anyone in possession of a deadly weapon is a legal combatant and target, especially if you make an aggressive move toward the soldiers of another country/power. If they had not been armed and/or not attacked the convoy they would not have been harmed. Even during WWII it was standard practice that being a combatant and being uniformed were synonymous, such as when Nazi Germany formed the Volksturm out of men from 16 to 60 years old that never would have mobilized otherwise.
