and yet I still don't know what buildspace is, like is it a venture capital firm like yc or do they provide coworking space like wework? vague ass video.
@@recursion. I kinda get what it is (something about a collective idea-upgrading platform, because ideas improve best when shared with others for feedback, except it's on steroids on the platform) but I agree that it's not stated enough. Probably should mention their potential users' pain points or something
Farza is such a wholesome guy, can't not love him. Been following the mission for a while and actually took some inspiration into my own startup. Best of luck to everyone!
i like this idea so much. can't help but feel like i found this a bit too early (still in school lol) but ill definitely be thinking abt this. thanks for reaching me
Be wary of any company that tries harder to sell your idea to you than you do. There’s no such thing as a company that spends a bunch of money to get you to pitch your ideas, for absolutely nothing in return.
You people are mind-blowing. :) Without people like you, many great ideas would die. My idea (don't know yet if it is great, but it was idle in my mind for many years before I came across your site) Please post snippets into how a Buildspace season would be like. Really intrigued to know after signing up for S5 (I bet most of those who signed up are)...
ceo here -- yea, sf can be kinda crappy. but, hey, it's what you make it. pics on how the last one went if curious: www.flickr.com/photos/198414363@N06/albums/72177720312356703/
I just shared my first Game Dev video and I can't believe I pushed myself to record and edit my progress despite me being extremely shy and having imposter syndrome. I'm a beginner game Dev with programming backgrounds. This is something I want to do because I feel like gamers deserve fun games without breaking their pockets. R.W.Y.S, Remember why you started. Spread the word, join the movement!
Is there a series of someone documenting their whole journey of building a business? Or of people who were part of their previous runs and did document their journey?
haha no one has ever described us like that. but sure yea if that's what you think it is -- i'll take it XD i do think one key thing to mention here is we focus 10000X more on you actually building your idea vs bullshit like "networking". be ready to focus hard on creating the v1 of your idea, getting it to the world, and iterating.
for some it's easier/motivating when you do it with others you are time bound, so you get to push yourself to meet up you also get the visibility which you might not have gotten working alone that means you've got early users(maybe testers) available
we can do everything alone. get buff, make a big company, eat healthy, get great at a game or sport. but, we choose to do it with others. often because it's not really about the goal, but the friends we make along the way.
nah. but, if we see people that really surprise us during the season we'll maybe wire them some travel funds. in general: the sf event is a "if you can make it, you should come" type event. if you can't, oh well -- it's all good. keep building. we will surely cross paths irl soon :)
Buildspace's approach of blending a flexible online platform with an in-person finale is a brilliant way to foster innovation and community among creators! 🚀 It's exciting to see a space that supports entrepreneurial spirits to experiment and grow their ideas into tangible projects.
Good idea in theory, but all it does is make competition and success even rarer. You understand that once you meet someone who knows someone in the tech hub, you build a reputation? Why would you want to crush it this way?
Cool video but I still don't get why I would join this? Bad explanation dude. I already started my idea online along side thousands of people. Its called the internet.
yo! ceo here. yea makes sense i could have explained better... i checked out your channel, and, looks like you have found thousands of ppl to build with :). reality is: most people reaaaaaaally struggle to find other ppl to build with. so, we try to do a few things: - help you find others in your domain + get feedback. - give you 1-2 lectures a week around marketing, design, and writing. - help you find your first 100 users, customers, listeners, subscribers, whatever. in reality, it's 6-weeks where you focus really really hard on building + getting real people to check out your work. if that's something you don't struggle with -- then yup this is useless for you. but hey... your game look amazing. would be cool to have you -- never know what might happen haha.
Hello Farza, I've had a RU-vid channel since 2013 (@AsquareM). I've self-taught video editing and have a pretty good recording setup by now. Only thing is - over time, RU-vid got saturated with every topic under the sun, and now I lack ideas on what to make engaging content about - something that provides the value of entertainment/infotainment to people, and mainly - I lack audience. I know they're out there, but my videos don't reach them. I have just ONE viral video. I'd love to transform full time into RU-vid, gain financial and creative independence, even if it means creating a new channel, starting afresh. Do I qualify for this? If yes, imma sign up right now.
