The problem with the album for me is that it's TOO good. Everytime I listen to a song I end up wanting to listen to the whole album. It's actually a weird problem to have.

It definitely is his Thriller. I love that he had Quicy Jones on here too. It's that subtle link to Micheal Jackson's Thriller that's so genius.

Take my breath was a single but he put the extended version on the album I think it fits better

The production on this is crazy! I found out he sampled Out of Time from a Japanese citypop song called Midnight Pretenders by Tomoko Aran. And he said this album is part of a trilogy, so I can’t wait for his future projects.

Amazing review bro. This album is so dope. Honestly I'd be shocked if he doesn't sweep all the Grammys, even though it's still early.

Saw him twice in the UK this summer, and it's honestly the best show I've been to. Manchester in June was incredible, then Wembley was just amazing in August, and the rain just added to the atmosphere 🤌 Once in a lifetime artist, and the closest thing we're ever going to see to MJ! I'm hoping he extends the tour through '24 so I can go again 🤞

The Michael Jackson comparison on “Take My Breath” was my first reaction as well. The pre-chorus is very similar to “Thriller’s” pre-chorus in vocal rhythm.

I love this album. For me, he continued the 80's sound to he started in ''After Hours'' (pop, RnB, new Wave and Synth Pop), but he included also EDM, funk and techno and was ambitious, because anything sound like a radio statiions in a album before with the narration between the songs. The song ''Every Angel is Terrifyng'' was a techno song and was the EDM and techno song of the album. My top of Weeknd albums now: 1. After Hours (the album who make me like so much Weeknd and attire so much my attention for him, depist i know many singles of him before without to hear the name of him. Except for this trash and horrific ''Heartless'' (the worst song of his career), this album have so much gems like ''Faith'', ''Blinding Lights'' or ''Too Late''. Also cited his ballads ''Scared to Live'' and ''Until I Bleed Out'', so much emotional and very sad). 2. Kiss Land (a very dark and experimental album, but no skip and a incredible production, a must for all the musics fans, including the non-weeknd fans, a strong debut for him (didn't hear the three EP before this first album)) 3. Dawn Fm (A excellent follow up to ''After Hours'' with his disco, funky and EDM influences aside to pursic the 80's influences of After Hours) 4. Beauty Behind the Madness (His most commercial album, but a very good album depist few fillers at this album) 5. Starboy (the half of the album was not so good, but some songs was a good listen like the duet with Lana Del Ray and I Feel it Comin)
