THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THIS TUTORIAL! My wife got this machine today and it was set too high and we had zero knowledge of how to lower to the Dr's recommended settings and couldnt find help in the manuals. Thank you again!!
Thank you so much!!! The owners manual doesn't describe how to do this it all. would have never figured this out without your video - greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much!!!!! My pressure wasn't high enough so I always felt like I was suffocating and I would end up taking it off at some point every night. Now I can get good sleep again! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
Thank you soooooo much for this video. I have been trying to change the pressure for weeks now because somehow I messed it up. This was THE BEST video explanation! I greatly appreciate it.
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!! I'm so happy to be able to do it. As well we should be able to. Thank you for sharing. Your video and explanation are perfect.
Thanks for that bud Know one shows you this with I think is a bit shit as I have had one for 4 years and i know myself i need a little bit more pressure so thanks for that you are a legend
I just found this video and I sincerely cannot thank you enough for making it and showing us how to do this simple task. What is completely oblivious to me is how on earth this is not explained in the f$@!# manual... Also, as someone who works on designing and improving user interfaces for a living, I am baffled as to how the heck they decided to use this circular design. Why not simply use a list like the original iPods ??? I guess it comes down to what others where reporting in the comments... service charges for resellers. They actually want you to drive 50-100 miles to the nearest vendor and pay money to have it set... Anyways, thank a lot again for the video!
+Jean-Philippe Veilleux I don't know what you are talking about. That's as user-friendly and intuitive as it can in term of user interface get... ;) I wonder what are the other hidden menus, there are room for a lot more dots. Who knows, maybe there's a hidden mode in which you plan frogger or have the box play an easter egg song to help you fall asleep.... So much mistery !
This interface was probably designed by some egyptian apple fanboy who was trying to mix the Ipod wheel with hieroglyphs instead of words, and hell, why not make the unlock of the clinical menu like of an old bank safe, just for fun! The worst part is that this machine has such a huge screen compared to most others that could display alot of written information in a very clear way, ya know, the kind of information you would want if you had paid top dollar for a machine that needs to be well adjusted for you since you use it every night to BREEZE! I wish somebody would create a Mod Firmare to remove this interface, give us a scroll down menu with straight forward information written in english (not bird signs), and the possiblility of simply saving your statistic data on the USB on a simple text file. Oh well, one can only hope.
thanks very much for this information.its really helped me out. i dont suppose you know how to lock it? we have a 2 year old that thinks its a computer and keeps playing with it?
Does anyone have a problem with water collecting in the pipe or mask & then causing related noise & discomfort? I suffer from dryness but I can't handle the water coming through.
Hi Dave. As a general rule, most people can use CPAP with a temperature setting of 1 with NO WATER in the chamber (just to take the chill off the air so the nose retains enough natural humidity). There are three exceptions: 1) if you use a full face mask you might need to use water in the chamber because you will be mouth breathing more, 2) is you have a seasonal cough (hayfever season, or even just a cough/cold) then water in the chamber might help soothe the throat, or 3) environmental factors like a very dry climate (eg altitude or geographical location inland). If you ARE using water, then again it is more common for people to need only temperature of 1 or maybe 2 and if you restrict yourself to those settings, you won't get as much condensation. Finally, having the machine on the floor with the hose right up under the blankets right inside the bed with you REALLY helps with nasal humidity and comfort even with water OUT - it just stabilises the temperature swings through the night. one last thing to check - if you press-and-hold the main button while at the humidity setting, the little single thermometer icon will start flashing on and off. It should also turn into TWO icons flashing which means the hose and chamber are set together. If it is THREE icons flashing, it means the hose is set to HIGH BOOST and will run HOTTER than the chamber. If it is a single flashing icon, it means the hose boos is set to OFF and the hose will get COLDER than the main chamber. Both those changes can have an impact on overall rain-out and condensation in the hose so you should check. The most common setting is TWO flashing thermometer icons with his the neutral setting. ONCE YOU SET THE BOOST (by pressing the centre button to stop the icon/s flashing) it will ALWAYS change back to a single thermometer icon, so the only way to check the setting is to press and hold while at the heat setting. In other words, if the thermometers are flashing off an on THAT is the setting. If it is a single non-flashing icon, it isn't showing the setting it is just telling you you are at the right place. I hope that wasn't too confusing!
I have had an icon for 2.5 years now it is getting error codes all the time. It can't be fixed in Australia and they want as much as a new one would cost in the US for an inservice replacement with no extension on the warranty which is only 2 years. I have had 4 Fisher and Pakel machines in only 11 years. What a joke absolutely won't buy another the life span of each successive model has got shorter and shorter.
My experience is that they are garbage as well. I could never get humidity to work decently and had to use a stand alone humidifier with this stupid machine. Finally it had enough incidences regarding not turning on and it was replaced but still has humidifying issues.
