The way her fingers caress the keys always amazes me....no matter what she plays, it seems so effortless. I hope that one day, I can look this graceful playing the piano! Bravo Valentina!
Valentina Lisitsa, you play like an Angel. I have never seen hands move over the keys as lightly & fluidly as yours. I am studying this piece & to see it played so exquisitely, to such perfection is a revelation. Thank you. Bless you.
THIS is how this piece should be played. Such passion. Almost luring the notes from the keys instead of forcing them. I've heard Ständchen played by so many. And so many times (while I thought the music beautiful) it was played clipped. To staccato. Bravo.
Amazing the way Valentina plays. Like Arthur Rubinstein said on TV years ago, in order to play the music wright, you have to BECOME the MUSIC, BE the MUSIC, FEEL the MUSIC. Well Valentina surely has understood and translated that into her brilliant play. Always a pleasure to watch her hands move in harmony, and close your eyes and dream away while listening to the music. Thank you Valentina.
I am amazed and moved that this wonderful song , which penetrates deep into the human heart , has caused the willingness of many different players to perform . From Tokyo Japan .
This video inspired me to learn this piece, I'm only one page in but really enjoying it, lucky I don't play piano for a living though, I'd be a lot poorer than I already am :o
It is very wonderful performance and the work.It shakes person,s soul. The composer might have received 「blessing」 for the first time in the life at this time. If not, it will not come the work which shakes and impresses man,s soul so much . There are few works where tears are spilled when we feel heartwarming listening.
the atmosphere is perfect; that place is wonderful . . . the candles; and standchen you played this piece, dear Valentina, with so much sweetness and passion. What a gentle sound! Beautiful; all is beautiful
The first time I heard this piece was while watching The Young Victoria, great movie. I knew I had to find out who wrote it and I also knew I wanted to learn how to play it. I haven't had the opportunity to learn this yet, but I will. I love to hear you play Valentina and I hope that I can see you play live one day! Just beautiful as always!
Emely Alarcon. As did I. I bought the CD to the film, but it was a very short piece. I don't know about you, but I've found it very difficult to find the complete piece on any CD. I would love it if Valentina Lisitsa had recorded it.
Su música me transporta. Sus dedos son mariposas revoloteando sobre el teclado, sacando dulces notas que nos hacen soñar, despiertos. Gracias Valentina.
Well after al the pianistic fireworks of Liszt and Rachmaninoff, Valentina also knows how to keep herself in check and keep the singing voice of Schubert in. It reminds me of Horowitz: he could also play anything he wanted, the most difficult ones included, but sometimes closed his recitals with this Ständchen from Schubert or this Liszt, slightly embellished version...
This was just wonderful, as TeRealDijin said, since I can't play this version I'm learning the simpler one but the piece itself is great and furthermore your interpretation Valentina, thank you.
It has all been said already, you make incredible music and you seem to do it by stroking the piano. I find it almost hypnotic. Looking forward to seeing you in concert in Edinburgh in May.
@missesofarrell I think the mesmerizing movements of her beautiful hands give the excecution the exact tempo & rithm required for this sublime piece of music. I wish my cheeks, were the keyboard of that fortunate Bosendorfer........
Hi! This is so nice,it's like going through the storm with You.I've got the Chopin &Schubert-liszt DVDs. Very nice! I've got to have the London DVD when its ready. LvU & Prayer Dan
With some heavenly music ripping something off the internet should be allowed right ; ), just search up a youtube converter, paste this URL and you can download an mp3 file
Tan sólo cerré los ojos para escuchar y no juzgar al pianista, buscando una buena interpretación y ella, lejos de todos, es quien mejor toca éesta pieza, a mí parecer, hasta la mitad.
Tokyo is autumn . Soon it will fall autumn rain . The autumn insects get wet with autumn rain and shake with cold . I hear song of transient life tonight while listening to her incomparable performance . Tokyo is autumn . From Tokyo in the dizzying Megalopolis ablaze with numerous neon lights Which national are you watching this video ?
Z.K.H prins Albert van Groot Britannie, liet door deze muziek zijn gevoelens blijken voor H.M koningin Victoria van Groot Britannie. Hij kon dit niet beter te doen deze muziek haar te zenden.
