in which i talk about a funny game that came out pretty recently. If you're reading this description, have you played F-Zero 99? Have you enjoyed it? Do you even own a Switch? Also hi.
I'm so excited to play more of this! It's super duper fun and it honestly has gotten me way more interested in the series than I was before, so I think it's definitely doing its job! Also, loving the addition of the pin to your on-screen character!
What really stands out for me it's that this game was made using the GBA games engine as a base since the turning, boost and flying mechanics are closer to that of Maximum Velocity rather than the OG F-Zero which for me is a big W cuz I really can't stand the engine of the OG F-Zero And this links to 3:38, there's a screen shot on one of the modes that shows a vehicle from Maximum Velocity so it wouldn't surprise me that they would add more vehicles along with new tracks down the line and that's perfect A little of wishful thinking from me but I also hope they add some wacky or even crossover Alternate colors for the Cars to make things fresh every once in a while
@@samcandles honesty I cannot find it. I hate spreading missinformation so I'm just gonna assume I mistook one of the NPC machines with the J.B Crystal very early, sorry for hyping it up l. God now something I took for granted became speculation (new machines) I really hope nintendo doesn't drop the ball. That ending joke was pretty funny btw
@@Punkqurupeco if it makes you feel better, there was actually datamines for slots for tracks beyond the original snes game's amount and some extra modes, which i learned about after posting this video
I keep saying this on every video I watch if it, but I have never played an F Zero game aside from a few minutes of the snes one, but have barely been able to set this one down since it released! Can't wait for the updates to come out so I can see why people are so scared about fire field (according to oatmealdome the updates are coming late this month and mid october, and some more tracks than the 15 snes ones were datamined along with the names of survival and arcade modes) I'm betting this one will stay around for much longer than Mario and Pac Man because it feels like more effort and love was put into it, at least I hope it does...
Felt like I couldn't comment until I actually played the game so sorry im a day late but I watched it on release I promiseeeee 😭 But yeah like you said, this was the best decision to get FZero into as many peoples minds as possible. I was a little skeptical at first but I love it lmaoo
Im super hyped about Fzero now. I wasnt a fan of it before, I liked the idea and I always liked him in smash bros, but I never seriously played the original. I have now purchased a copy of Fzero on the snes and a copy of Fzero X, and I will play them both. But for now its mostly just 99.
If Nintendo does decide to add more tracks and machines, BS F-Zero 2 GP would be the obvious best choice. Most people don't even know the Sattellaview was a thing, let alone that it had it's own F-Zero with it's own machines and tracks. I wouldn't even mind if it was paid DLC since it'd be the 1st time any of those tracks or machines were playable outside emulating a rom that doesn't even have all the tracks.
hey this is the first video on your channel i watched, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the game! I love your Kirby music choices btw. So yeah I didn't have quite as good a time as you did with the game, maybe because I'm feeling kind of sick lately and also something about the sound design/UX is pretty off as a fan of the original. But I'm gonna try it again when I feel better. Another weird thing is it won't let my account play the game even though I have online and can play Smash Bros, classics, etc. just fine. Way to start off on a sour foot, Nintendo ?!?!#!
I should've mentioned this in the video (seems to be a common thing for me) but I think the sound is fine to me, ASIDE from the music. the music is, for some reason, awfully compressed, and its like.. listenable? but it sounds worse than the actual game emulated on the switch for some reason. also ive played the original game ENOUGH to get what is different here, but maybe not enough to throw me off. i can understand it feeling weird if youre used to the original game that much. thx for subbing btw!
@@samcandles interesting you should mention that, I didn't notice the tinniness as much as the balance of sounds versus music. Also I don't like the new remixes
I think they are fully capable of making something a bit less drab if they make a brand new game with full 3d visuals. But i do agree with you to some extent regarding those two games
I don't like how people keep saying "GX sold poorly", as if the Gamecube itself selling poorly had nothing to do with that. The real reason the series hasn't had a comeback is that Nintendo doesn't have the talent to make one that surpasses GX, and they don't have a gimmick that can hide that fact.
Also you might as well be right considering the mediocre state of Mario Kart now, but I think the F-Zero tracks from the original MK8 DLC are evidence enough they could make a new HD F-Zero that's good... at least back then
