F-Zero GX mission 5 on very hard 

When you are about go off the ramp, you have to go down on the joystick in the air so the blue falcon moves up. This allows him to enter the exit. Many times i did not do that and he just fails to enter the exit.

I may be wrong, but I think it's either glitched or is made RNG whether you pass or not once the timer hits the 40 seconds on purpose. It may be a result of it being altered from the Japanese version in which it stops exactly at 40 seconds in. Dunno, all I can say is that I didn't even care if my time was above slightly above 40 seconds and the fact that Blue Falcon pierced the already closed gate after attempting this BS for 5+ hours.

I don't get how you make it through the last gate with 5 seconds left. I can get every capsule and not hit any anything, but whenever I get through the last gate I'm always at 4 seconds. I have no idea what to do differently. I'm always losing by just 1 second.

I'm tackling this hellish mission myself again and I feel your pain. But looking at your footage, I think I can tell what happened. In your winning run, you cleared both lips of the door. The game gives you the whole 40th second to work with, as you can see with the failing run - the "Time is up" message doesn't appear until the 41st second. But in your failing run, you just barely clipped bottom lip, which knocked you upwards into the top lip, and in turn damaged the last of your energy and you broke down. Now, if you had broken down but hit the clear trigger, you would still have succeeded, but that blow to the door did just enough to counteract your momentum so that you never reached it. It's dumb, that last door just shouldn't have collision if you ask me.

When you are going very fast, you sometimes don't bounce off things that you hit. It's basically random whether or not collision works properly. I remember the same glitch happening to me in Expert Extra 1 in Monkey Ball 2, which uses the same collision detection. What I'm really confused about in F zero in particular is how the amount of height I get off the ramp changes. Sometimes I go through the gap, sometimes I slam into the final door. I never hold the joystick going off the ramp so idk what's happening

See what happened the failed is that the blue falcon went over the ramp at the wrong angle, the door itself has no hitboxes the car just goes into a death animation if you miss the ramp hitbox. Or something i dont actually know man im just a stick of butter.
