Hard to believe that this game was actually on the N64 looks really good for that system. Also F-Zero is like the most underrated game of all time and the only mention it gets is of captain falcon and the falcon punch and stuff even though its a super hardcore future racing game type thing.
Compared to the other futuristic racers like Wipeout, a lot of reviewers back then thought this game looked like trash. I think it looks incredible just because of how amazing the sense of speed is.
Part of what made it looks so good was that graphically, the tracks, cars, and backgrounds were all very simple and low fi looking, but they had it running at 60fps. You couldn't tell that the graphics were low res because of how insanely fast things moved in game, and the high fps kept it running super smooth and realistic. Really, this was a game ahead of its time.

Best racing game of all time right here. We got speed. A large running group. Amazing tracks. Tight controls. Awesome music. And "YOU GOT BOOST POWER!!!!"
When I found out Nintendo decided NOT to bring the 64 Disk Drive to North America, I wanted to cry. I was so looking forward to making my own tracks with the F-Zero X Track Creator. I still hold a grudge against them for that. IMHO this is the best game in the entire F-Zero series. The music is just so awesome, and so are the tracks.
Notice how by the end of the race it goes from 30 - 28 for the number of racers....that cause racers actually died in this game and didn't respawn they were just gone so you could move up in position just by running people off the track and killing them. Mario kart aint got shit on that.

hehe i like the way you said it, DkS is just a throwback of the good old game where you get punished when you make a mistake but you also get a great reward for mastering the game
man, i finished the entire game in master mode with keyboard, without any progressive analog control, think how insane i was hahhaha anyway, your gameplay was impressive
***** You've probably never seen an emulator, but that's what it looks like. It's just a program that lets him play it on his computer. And the reason the scores went fast was because when you hold down A it goes faster.
What the hell. Why does everybody think, that this guy is god or whatever. Master difficulty isn't easy, but playing like THIS requires some practice. But it's definetly not impossible or whatever. I play like that too.
jou know the awsomness of this stage is just told in super smash melee its a stage there and in brawl it returns but why jou see its so special is unlike all stages from melee just stayed the same this stage was remade in better grapicicall detail or as captain falcon would said for someting awsome FALCON PUNCH
I only played F-Zero on the SNES. This looks amazing! But gaäddamn! Why do they keep putting the speedvin kilometers per hour? As Americans we should have it in miles/hour!
i bought my N64 for 20$ freshmen year of high school and I bought this game at a game store for 5 bucks and that same store had the original F-ZER0 for the SNES and I got that for 5 bucks too!
