Phenomenal drive by the Monza Gorilla. He didn't inherit that win. He just beat everyone fair and square on the day. Treacherous conditions seemed to make no difference to him on that incredibly fast track.
Vittorio..
You don't actually see it but the most difficult bend was at the end of the front straight. It was called the Hella Licht Curve and was changed to the Hella Licht Schikane after Donahue's fatal accident there n 1975. Niki Laura described it in his book as one of the most difficult bends in Grand Prix racing. We do see all the others: the Dr Tiroch (AKA the Glatz Curve), the famous - or infamous - Bosch Kurve,
it is a really dangerous work to drive a car in these conditions; we can remark that pilots were heroes to feel the limit; some know lead the nervous situation and go to an experimental field where they exprim all their talents
We all laughed and could not believe that Vittorio Brambilla wins. Austrian GP was very difficult to race. a very demanding track! In good AND bad weather.
