I'm glad there's a clear way to know which brands holding their smaller sensor lineup. Canon blocking the 3rd parties, panasonic just...being panasonic which is understandable 😅
Thanks for the honest review! It's difficult to mention the issues or "not prefect" performance on a review. For photography, I would say the major competitor is the Viltrox f1.2 Pro line, which is heavier and cost 50%+ more, but with significant better image quality on sharpest and contrast. For Video, I would say this three piece set is superb though, very light weight, no breathing, what else do you need!
Thanks for sharing! I do my best to deliver an honest opinion with a positive touch😀 I agree that the Viltrox Pro series is really good and if F1.4 is enough Sigma have an excellent three lens kit.
First time i've heard of the Sirui Sniper i do like the USB-C port for firmware updates, and the image quality looks good. Thanks for introducing us to this lens.
Thanks again for taking the time to look at these budget lenses. It is super helpful to all of us who work on a low budget. It's nice to know that every lens has a sweet spot, even budget. Great job on the video. Loved the night photography.
Thanks Matti, you must be loving the move, the music and photos here give a real sense of place. Now lenses, budget gear has its place and can be a creative tool in the right hands, but the recent crop of mass produced lenses seem more about marketing than image quality. Thanks for your honest appraisals, and remember, date your camera but marry your lenses.
Since many people want prime lenses for their image quality, these budget lenses do not make much sense to me. Especially since there are many 1.4 or even 1.2 options for around €600,-
Not that many 1.2 lenses at this price. Doesn’t matter though…I saw a review that said CA is horrible and lenses are so soft you can’t use them wide open so what’s the point? Better off saving up for better glass.
@@tannerjagim4241double the price but still not expensive, still very cheap and affordable seeing how those lenses can go toe to toe with actual fuji glass. This sniper series? Hot garbage even at its price
Yeah I was a bit dissapointed with these. They produce a nice and characterful bokeh, but other than that, both Viltrox and SIgma outperform these in every regard. Especially the inconsistent color rendering throughout the set was a huge let down for me. If there is any reason to buy a set it's consistent colors. Really wanted to love these.
The Viltrox, however, will be bigger, heavier, and almost twice the price. I guess it depends here where you put your priorities. There are also a lot of people who love to have the dreamier look at open aperture, yet still a lens that is sharp stopped down.
@@lewkonit’s an APS-C lens. If you use a full frame you’ll either need to use APS-C mode if your camera has it or you’ll need to crop in to avoid the heavy vignette.
@@lewkon Daniel Do did a video where he briefly shows his A7SIII with these lenses uncropped. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ET9tMVGQjyE.htmlsi=YTlbTTv6K_vEu5QR
