F1 2019 Career Mode Part 28: The Illegal Overtake 

There has never been a German lock out on the podium. The last time any nationality had locked out the podium was the San Marino Grand Prix in 1983 when Patrick Tambay (Ferrari), Alain Prost (Renault), and Rene Arnoux (Ferrari) locked out a French podium.

Don’t speed up the qualifying session. There is a glitch where the AI cars go faster when you simulate right to the end. That’s why you get knocked out of qualifying sometimes and why you almost got knocked out of Q1. Also, try to finish your last lap as the time ends because the same thing happens with the AI. Sorry that you got knocked out in Q2. Your pace is really faster than that. I just want to give you some advice. Love your content!

it's been like 3 years and you're still falling for the bug where the AI qualifies FAR faster in the rain when you skip time...

Is this the first time you've realized that fast forwarding to the end of a qualifying session will improve everyone else's times? You've encountered this a hundred times over the last two years of your channel!

In real Formula 1 there has not been an All German podium. In Imola 1983 the podium was an All French one - Patrick Tambay won in front of Alain Prost and Rene Arnoux was third.

That qualifying bit is why I don't skip to end in qualifying. It does something screwy with the AI's q times.

Ben, Try to time your last run in quali so, that the session ends during your fast lap. The glitch of AI being immense fast doesn’t seem to work like that. And so jealous of Renaults economy! Have to run sector 1+2 on ERS low to be able to use high at the straights... not even talking about fuel hahaha

There is a very, very, very, VERY simple solution to the qualifying glitch. Just set a lap at the end of the session. In fact, you don’t even need to set a lap, just be on track as the AI complete theirs, it takes 1 or 2 minutes of your time and solves the qualifying problem. Also, you should be setting your time at the end of the session because the conditions are often at their best. That’s my strategy and I have literally never had this glitch myself, I wouldn’t believe it even existed if I hadn’t seen it on RU-vid so much.

You need to invest in cost reduction and reliability. It makes a huge difference in a season and increases the chance for less failure and more satisfaction. even though I suffered in my 1st season, I was way too strong 2nd season afterwards.

I think it was because VER|PER collision brought out yellow flag so your corner cut was legal in order to avoid a collision

Good race at Canada. 👍 That wasn't an illegal overtake btw, it was avoiding a possible collision although I would've let the driver behind back past afterwards if I was in your situation.

That was not an illegal overtake by the games standards. You got pas ricciardo on track and then you went off and passed Perez. But that was Okay since Perez had a half spin and caused a small yellow if you saw. The game allows you to overtake someone if they are the cause for the yellow. So yea and going around the bollard also prevents you from getting a corner cut penalty.

Ben Daly only overtakes round the outside round the outside round the outside.

Just off the top of my head, without looking it up and looking at the comments, the German 1, 2, 3 that makes the most sense surely has to be Michael and Ralf Schumacher and Heinz Herald Frentzen. Can't think of another German trio that would've had a chance of a podium.

Proof that you should never skip to the end of session, just fast forward the time and let it end naturally, otherwise the AI gets a super time boost

The Merc engines fail waaaaay to much in this game. also I still think only the engine manufacturer teams should be allowed to do engine upgrades. Customer teams should have to wait for the factory team to complete the upgrade then be given the option to purchase it outright with research points. the trade off between not being able to dictate the engine upgrades is that when they are available, you get to purchase them and have them applied immediately.

Ben, please stop doing 2-stops and just go back to 1-stops. The time advantage of the 2-stop gets lost in traffic and the fastest lap only gives you 1 point.
