I am one of drivers who drive the trucks from race to race. I was in Imola on Sunday and then over to Monaco on Monday. Its complete madness trying to get into Monaco. All trucks park well away from Monaco.
I can imagine the chaos. Must be a logical nightmare for you guys. Makes the Imola paddock look spacious in comparison. I had always heard there was an area for the trucks nearby and that they ferried everything back and forth to the pit through the tunnel under the palace. This was 15-20 years ago when the pit area was much smaller though, so maybe it’s different now. How far away are you? I assume you have to transfer all the cargo to smaller trucks to then get it to the pits.
That’s cool. 😀 I have a friend who did that for Red Bull and Marussia a few times. We were both born in the village where they now make the Mercedes F1 engines. There’s a bit of F1 and other motorsport heritage in that neck of the woods, I mean, our dads used to do banger racing together at Brafield 😂
wow...I wonder how long it would take for one of the team buses to get from the frontier to the pit lane. Wonder how that works...do you have someone to accompany you, say on a scooter or something, to negotiate a path?
Back in the day before the current pits were built you could walk through the old pits and get up close to the garages and cars. I also remember in 2005, when the current pits were open, Red Bull had their mechanics dress up as Star Wars ‘Stormtroppers’. We were high up in stand T and had a great view of them. Great memories. The Monaco Grand Prix may not be the best Grand Prix but it is the best Grand Prix to attend. Must get back again soon!!! Thanks for the video and bringing back fantastic memories. 👍👍
As a former oil field "puke" and retired trucker, I'd just like to say that reporting from the port-a-John's in MONACO is a considerable step UP from dropping your "knickers" in the dark, in a blizzard (-40F) in Nowheresville, North Dakota. Take it from me, dear brother, some of us are VERY impressed indeed! 😂❤ Love your channel and enjoy every minute of it!!
@@johnb4183 They have enough fuel to travel about 6000 nautical miles. Not sure what that works out too. They've just crossed the Atlantic for the summer season.
I worked for Craig Leopold, the owner of LOON, at his first company, Ameritel, in Neenah, Wisconsin. S.C. Johnson was a major client, and through which he met Helen Johnson. After he sold his share of Ameritel, he bought an outdoor products company. Great to see he's doing well.
It is great to be part of your channel. Great to see how you enjoy it and to experience all this through your eyes. It is so nice. Please let us have the opportunity to keep following in your tracks in Monaco! Many thanks
On MY Loon live docking video they stated that they will be docking for the entire week. Loon is around 66m and they claim the mooring fee was around €110,000 for the week. They had to apply 12 months in advance and prove they would have a connection to the Grand Prix either hosting a sponsor or a driver. They also stated that Formula 1 takeover the whole harbour hence the prices go through the roof.
Yikes, that's a lot of porridge. I moor my canoe for free in Algonquin. I awake to the Loon's call early every morning and their call tucks me in at night.🌲
You are correct regarding the fee due to the dock master for dockage during F1. However, the dock master will also advise you that if you want to be on the “front row”, you will need a letter from an F1 team or an F1 sponsor …. Which can be purchased, but that amount is much higher.
Great job. You give your audience the feeling of being there for the event. You and Loon are my favorite channels. Go on board; want to see you guys together.
I DID know about the general size of Monaco. Husband was Navy and his ship spent some time in Monaco. He served as Ships Translator in France and Monaco when the Brass discovered he was fluent in French. And for fellow sailors when they found out he could speak to the locals. He gave several tours on the ship and spent some time in Monaco, coming back with numerous tales of his escapades. He told me quite a bit about Monaco, including its size.
12:56 Fountain Head. Good ole Eddie Lampert. Glad to see Sears going bust didn’t hurt his life style one bit. He claimed to be trying to save it, all the while he was driving it into the ground and selling off its pieces. He made out just fine. What a peach.
Still remember walking around in Monaco when we had our Solar Boat race at the Yacht Club. Still seeing many marks on the roads from the races. Just impressive how fast they remodel a few streets for the races!
Thank you for making this video. I´m fascinated by Monaco and your video and the information you share give a fine perspective of the reality of what this principality is all about.
Great video! I love F1 and yachts. I've been watching for a couple years and really like it when you include cars and boats. It's been cool watching you grow the channel.
Standard Grand Prix schedule is Media Day Thursday, Free Practice 1 & 2 on Friday, Free Practice 3 and Qualifying on Saturday, Grand Prix race on Sunday, OR on "Sprint Weekends" it's Media Day Thursday, FP1 & Sprint Qualifying Friday, Sprint Shootout & GP Qualifying Saturday, Grand Prix race on Sunday. Monaco used to have a "special" schedule with Media Day Wednesday, FP1/FP2 Thursday, (day off Friday), FP3/Qualifying Saturday, Grand Prix race on Sunday, but the schedule has reverted to the standard schedule.
Great video, as usual! And let's face it, Monaco is the Crown Jewel that it is, because it was THE original grand prix race - the organization did not even exist when it was first held in 1929. On top of which, it is the only race where wealthy people can watch the event from their own balcony, or better yet, the aft deck of their own superyacht. And of course, like everything else about Monaco, it certainly has a unique mystique about it, doesn't it? Geoff Rohde
absolutely the best and informing videos, I like how you go were no one else will go, and give us the viewers a back door and lay mans look. I watch all your videos start to finish, and enjoy your insights , and knowledge of places and Yachting world. Great job. I always like your motoring info and videos. Excellent mix.
I was in Monaco one time in the mid-80's and wanted to do 2 things, see Princess Grace grave site and walk the entire Grand Prix course..... I did both ! Love the place (to visit as long as you have a ship waiting for you to eat and sleep in every night) !
You da man, eSysman!! Brilliant walkthrough the paddock viewing lane and entire presentation! I always enjoy your channel, and have loved F1 for decades, so this was a special treat!
The crew loon really puts out great videos.. I, like so many others, I'm sure, have been thinking that they owned the boat, so thanks for sharing info on the real owner.. Always interesting
A close up of Nina working on Loon would have been nice!! I always appreciate your Monaco race weekend vlogs, they are amongst your best and so far, this year is no exception. Thanks eSysman!
🙋♂️THANKS ESYSMAN,FOR THE UPDATE AND THE BEHIND THE SCENES ,VERY 😎 COOL! something to behold for the average person, and 7:20 GETTING PAID TO STAND THERE AND LOOK PRETTY 😅💚💚💚
So stoked you are our guy on the ground for the races and...the SY's of course...it should be a really, really exciting race this year. Those mooring fees are mice nuts for those gillionaires...but, loved all your b-roll footage as well.
I have yet to be interested in the F1, but I do enjoy when you do these tours and let us know what's going on, especially with what changes Monaco does to set up for the Grad Prix.
‘Coral Ocean’ used to be called ‘Coral Island’. I remember seeing it as a kid around 1996. We were driving over the 17th St bridge in Ft. Lauderdale. My dad pulled off so we could look up close and it was being fueled by several fuel trucks. It was one of the biggest yachts at the time.
Excellent video . The track is for sure taking shape and all the Pits are coming together last minute preps. The Yachts were great shots and how cool was it seeing MY LOON on 4 parts of your video. count number 1:21, 1:46, 4:29, 5:36. I'll mention to them after watching their video how unfortunate it is that there view is that of shitters and rear view of the stands lol. They're fortunate enough just to be able to dock where they are. I had forgotten actually how small and smaller than Central Park that Monaco actually was thanks for the interesting history geography session. And yea I also thought that gentleman on stern of boat rubbing his blonde hair was Steve Bannon LOL. Keep up the great videos thanks again cheers looking forward to next video
Thanks for the inside scoop on this event. Those three guys that walked by you at the very end. The middle guy grabbed the ass of the guy on his right as they walked by. 😂😅😂😅😂 I bet there is a lot more hanky panky going on this weekend. I hope Louis wins the race.
I would love to be there for that race, and see Monaco!! what a trip that would be.....Love your videos, people like me at least get to Fantasize right :)
First visit. I'm a subscriber now. The fact I found most interesting was that the whole of Monaco will fit into Central Park, NYC, with room to spare. I was a vehement Vettel fan, but this year I'm barracking for LeClerc. You were saying the Yachts are moved back a few metres, in case one of the F1 racers has a whoopsie and ends up jumping the fence. Alberto Ascari crashed his Lancia into the harbour during the Monaco Grand Prix in 1955.
I really enjoy following LOON. and of course, Chef Nina! thanks for another amazing video. I've been chatting about the race w/ some friends. we all agree, it's our least favorite Races. HOWEVER, we all also agree, its the one race on all of our bucket lists! and its all about the race week and Monaco's history and not the race itself.
Great information on Monaco mooring fees & comparison with F1 week. Are there yachts with good views of the track? I've thoroughly enjoyed viewing F1 edition part 1 + 2 👏👏👏👏
Very interesting video. Well done. You answered many questions (some, of which, I hadn't even thought of). Like you, I like motorsports. What the super rich do with their money is sad, but interesting.
