@@raychev982 Kimi beat it in 2005 (1:13:644) and then beat his own time in Q2, the following year (1:13:532), a record that stood until the new 2017 cars came along... and guess who set the fastest time that year... 👀
Wow watched this clip again, gives me chills of when i used to sit my dad in my younger days and watch F1 Trulli was always one of his favorites. It was a good day..
@TheCarlsonsRaiders agreed. Jarno's expulsion at Renault was sealed when he terminated his management contract with Flavio Briatore. From that day on he was lost. My favourite laps in Monaco are the ones by Gerhard Berger in Thursdays free practice in 1995, doing these massive four-wheel-drifts at the casino. not that quick, but highly impressive. Just look for "Berger Monaco 1995" here on RU-vid and your heart will stop. :-))
@TheCarlsonsRaiders not really. In 2005, Raikkönen set an 1.13,644 during Q1. he also was below the 74-mark during Q1 (1.13,887) and Q2 (1.13,532) in 2006, where Alonso also could beat this mark in Q2 (1:13,622) and Q3 (1:13,962). In the 2006 Q2 segment , also Fisichella (1.13,647), Coulthard (1.13,687) and Rosberg (1.13,909) achieved this. Plus, in 2010 Mark Webber set a pole time of 1.13,862, and in 2011 Vettel (1.13,556) and Button (1.13,997) were that quick. in Q3. a total of 12 laps.
saturn185 James Allen was at least as foolish as old Murray Walker when the latter-mentioned F1 commentator legend reached the end of his careeer. Allen was just an infuriating berk, although not as bad as Jonathan Legard
@Knightrider03 Correction; they need more competitive manufacturers like Porsche, Toyota, Honda, et al back, not just the moving chicanes like HRT and Virgin. I'm surprised Richard Branson with all the wealth and resources afforded to him can't put a winning team on the grid. Virgin/Lotus should be a midfield team by next year or two. That Hispania team is just pathetic.
@TheColinChapman Ah well, Trulli's was by far and away the most interesting to watch. A shame Renault have ruined so many careers including his, he had a real chance for even better things in F1.
@Knightrider03 he drive a Lotus maybe just want to feel the new beginner team...Lotus also great team than Virgin and Hispania...Lotus should be regular machine team soon...better than Scuderia Torro Rosso and Williams maybe...or Sauber..
Too bad he's been sacked by Caterham...money have a bigger place nowadays in F1! Farewell Jarno, he never had the chance to drive a world champ car (apart from Renault).
