My Heart & Soul are in these modal trucks, I have built 4 over the years & the last one 10 years ago... Your about to motivate me into starting on my 5th. I have never done the suspension other than rebuilding stock & it is where these trucks really lagged.. Some beautiful work you got there... & just think I gave away a 2004 & a 2006 crown vics about a year ago.

Just a suggestion on seats for the stude. There are tons of used jeep seats out there. Go on marketplace in your town and you can pickem up cheap. Harvest the mounts and use thick square tubing to weld seat to mounts. Hope that makes sense. That’s what we did with some racing seats for my jeep. Hope this helps. Just remember, there’s a 1000 ways to skin a cat. 😎

What a great idea. This way you can't remove it as an assembly. You also give up the added cushion of the rubber mounting bushings. You really didn't put a whole lot of thought into this.
@BlackLabelGarage
@BlackLabelGarage 4 года назад
To be honest i don't believe the rubber bushings would make that much of a difference, especially under a pickup bed.

@@BlackLabelGarage as one of the first to do an IRS swap under a bump I can tell you they do along with the ability to remove the entire unit in one piece. The modular design as intended. It's your truck and your money. Build it however you desire.

@@makingsensewithsteve3620 Exactly, I saw how the Team321 kit made the rear sit and I didn't like it. I want the truck lower. The point of making a custom vehicle is to use parts in a different manner than originally designed right?! Everyone has there own tastes.

@superjavi9313

Hey man I've watched your vids over and over to get ideas for when I do a parallel 4 link and I was thinking... since you're custom making and welding in a *irs* on this.. once the frame is shaved of leaf springs brackets and everything and it's just sitting there naked wouldn't it of been easier instead of cutting 16" up front and 4" out back to just cut the total 20" off the back of the frame first and then slide the mounting point of the *irs* forward 16"? That way you only cut the frame in the back and don't have to weld it together?
@BlackLabelGarage
@BlackLabelGarage 5 лет назад
That is a fair question. That would work if the frame was completely Horizontal but since it has a bend upward where the rear axle sits then you cannot do that. You have to maintain the rise in the rear end of the frame for mounting points with the bed.

I built this same kit for under a 100 dollars. Then I decided not to use this rear end. I'm going all Jaguar xjs independent rear suspension. Well front & rear. It's much narrower and gives me a bolt pattern with more selections of wheels that I can buy. Nice job though

@ltsgarage7780
@ltsgarage7780 5 лет назад
@@BlackLabelGarage why didn't you just buy a complete Jaguar. You can buy a complete car for almost nothing. Those are everywhere. Not bent up or wrecked. Just the motor or body is a pos. You're going to rebuild everything else anyways. Everything I've found is under 500 dollars. That a good price for a much nicer looking piece. I couldn't find just the rear or just the front end around me either. I finally found the complete front and rear suspension out of a 1995 Jaguar XJS. I like the newer setup because of the outboard brakes.
@BlackLabelGarage
@BlackLabelGarage 5 лет назад
@@ltsgarage7780 that's a good idea for the next one. i thought that the jag ifs/irs were fairly narrow. good for a fat fender truck but not so much for the later models.

Hi what's the difference mk8 to 2017 mustang thks
@BlackLabelGarage
@BlackLabelGarage 5 лет назад
To be honest the mustang it's is beefier. It's based off the it's out of the 03 cobras so is has more splines. I believe it's 36 or 38. Not to mention it's a limited slip with better gear ratio like a 3.75 or 4.10. the Mark 8 is like the old Thunderbird it's. Basically it's the predisesor. It only has a 28 spline and it's not a limited slip. The gear ratio is also low since it was in a car.(better gas mileage) BUT it's exceedingly cheaper. The mustang it's will run about 1500 will the Mark 8 only cost me 250. To get the gears and a limited slip I'm looking at another 650. For me it was the cost. If you have the cash I'd go for the Cobra or mustang it's....if not grab the Mark 8 and upgrade it! Just my .02 though! Hope that helps

@@BlackLabelGarage I was wondering if 2004 Mercury Marauder or Grand Marquis front suspension would work. Have a P71 Crown Vic in our shop bone yard but it's a 1995 with wielded front suspension.
@BlackLabelGarage
@BlackLabelGarage 5 лет назад
@@jamesharrison4272 That is a great question. They are all the same frame but with different body kits/engines. The model just needs to be a 2003+ for the 1 piece aluminum IFS. So yes the Grand Marquis or Marauder IFS will be the correct one IF it is a 2003 or newer.
