F104G Volkel A/B 

I got goosebumps. Not because it's 68 and the A/C is on, but because I got to hear the sound of an entire squadron of Starfighters at the same time. Absolutely sexy.

I love the Starfigther, what a beautiful bird and the sound incomparable. I met him at JaboG 32 on the Lechfeld. 1981-1984. 🤙

Dat geluid he. man man man wat is dat toch mooi. Als kleine man in veghel gewoont en met de juiste wind het opstarten horen..=))) En als ze dan laag overkwamen, aahhhhhhh wat mooi. Mijn Pa was hoofd Navigatie en heb dus heel wat tijd langs de baan door gebracht. (en bij 306)

Daar gaat je hart sneller van kloppen, wat een mooie tijd. Dat speciale F104 geluid horen we helaas niet meer.

I still have this incredible "StarWars" sound in my hears. This was in the 70s over Belgian Ardennes training airspace. You could still hear power changes long time after they had disappeared over the horizon! Tks for the vid!

I have a model of the jet seen at frame 4:10! She now resides on a pole outside the KLu museum. A great video, the sound of these jets was simply amazing, almost unearthly. I was at RAF Wattisham with the F-4J(UK), and the J-79's never sounded quite like this!

wat een geluid, geweldig! voor wat ik begrepen heb staat er nog het 1 en ander aan onderdelen opgeslag at VLB SSB wat allemaal van het MLM is. hopenlijk krijgen we er weer een 104 en f-5 vliegwaardig en worden ze voorgevlogen in een heritage flight met de hunter en de f-16. zou behoorlijk wat overhebben om die kist te mogen vliegen. bedankt voor het maken van de video!

the times of the good old cold war when it was necessary to have numerous jet fighters of one type to counter soviet numbers in the air. The turkish air force also used this jet as well as the german airforce. however the germans had so many accident with this arrow like fast flying jet that they called the F104 a "widowmaker".

Helemaal goed, zonder muziek is het veel mooier

Typisch F-104, het janken van de motor, lijken net eerdere formule 1 motoren. Mijn pa werkt daar sinds de jaren 80 (brandweer) en hij vond dit filmpje net een "flashback". Jammer dat de one-0-fours niet meer vliegen, had dat geluid een keer mee willen maken. zeer goed filmpje!

Piet, about this sound. Did pilots deliberately choose rpm so it would howl, or did it howl no matter what the pilot wanted... just adjust your rpm to the approach?
