How we installed a Rough Country suspension lift kit on a 1992 Ford F150. Watch "F150 Rough Country 4" to 6" Lift Kit Conversion 1992 Bronco" to see the front of the kit get changed to the 6" lift to level the truck.
Hey so I notice miller park in background what's up fellow wisconsinite!!!! Whooop whooop Wisconsin der hey!!! Used to ha e to drive the girlie friend to miller Park every day she used to work in kitchen that did catering for the fancy rich people boxes and she actually met tom pipins sports dude anyways nice truck what up west Allis hahaha the dirty stalis
The rear of the truck normally is higher in the back for weight carrying purposes , other wise with a load it be very low in the back. And the head lights be blinding on coming traffic.
Just did this kit. I opted to leave the sway bar off...no noticeable difference in handling. I have yet to install the stabilizer. Thinking about fabricating a stronger bracket & then just welding it to the frame. That is a crazy type of mount they give you.
Thanks for this comment. I just came on here cause I didn't even know these trucks had swaybars. I just installed the leveling springs on the front of mine and I don't even have that mounting bracket for a swaybar on my 92 4wd f150. Guess I won't worry about it if there isn't a noticeable difference
@@Oldsmob455 huh! They look a lot like the original springs in mine and if they were aftermarket springs for a lift I think there intended to be beefier then stock to eliminate as much lift block!
Have a 88 f150 short bed been sitting! Just pulled cab front clip and bed just to clean the frame it sat for twenty years on a farm in Georgia! Nowhere near that much rust, I still had factory stickers on the frame. You must live up north in the salt belt somewhere? Is there a coating I can put on the frame to make it last the rest of my life?
Airbags probably lifted the front a bit so the original mesurement maybe off. Also depending on the oem real block it could be a 1.5" if it was swaped from a f250. Or 2.5" if from a f350. So probably 4" lift on stock un inflated front coils and f150 oem rear block
I noticed you had the quad shocks on the front suspension, did that kit come with all 4 shocks for the front? Looking on the RC website it says their kits now replace both shocks with 1...
My suspension is going sagging pretty hard in my 1992 f150 2WD 4.9.... instead of a stock suspension replacement, can I just install this kit instead ? Thanks
+Patrick Mcginn It has the suspension stop on it. I confirmed with Rough Country that it's the right one and is supposed to stay. Editing the update on this lift now, stay tuned.
How were you able to get quad shocks from rc? When I called them to do a 4 inch lift on my 94 f-150 they said they didn't offer any shocks that fit a quad setup and that i need to use only one shock per side. I don't even know if puting a single shock on a quad shock bracket would be functional
I'll take your misspelling of "supposed" as an emphasis on the word and counter with the fact that what you said only applies to original suspension equipped from the manufacturer. The big difference is this here leveling kit does exactly what it sounds like it does. Drumroll please . . . The leveling kit levels the vehicle. They either have extra blocks in the rear leaf spring mix that shouldn't be there or where they mounted the beams on new drop brackets at 4" they should have been mounted at the 6" position
We've been over this in comments already. The suspension stop is on the factory blocks. It was confirmed with the aftermarket manufacturer that the factory block were to be used in tandem.
@@Oldsmob455 this is actually why I looked at this video...we left them out and it sits level but I want more, so I'm going to do coil spacers in the front after I put the blocks back in. glad someone could clear this up. if RC says it's ok. I trust them
@@Oldsmob455 okay thanks! I just finished putting the kit om the rear of my 95 f150. Ive never done a suspension before, and disnt know that there were two different kits: one that comes with blocks, and one that comes with springs. I have the spring kit.
Sorry off top my head but i was just thinking about your running hot problem with the Javelin,,, it true big C.I. amb v8 run hot, But maybe AMC motors run hot because ….and Its true AMC did put a lot of nickel in their blocks and heads? I had a friend that told me ones, that he had toke his amc heads to a machine shop, and they made note and complain to him that the head he gave had given them use a hard metal and was hard on there machine when they where plan the heads...maybe the nickel effecting heat transfer in the block ,,,,,, but at same time makes a more bullet proof block :)
I like the work You did, One question, how do i get the All the piece You put there because i wanna do the same thing to My car, i have the same car. What's the name of the kit piece? Thank You!
I was wondering about the radious arm bushings did you leave out the plastic spacer? On the factory bracket it it suppose to go over the metal part sticking out of the hole on the back of the bracket but the rough country bracket Is thicker so it will not go over it and seat properly. Should I just leave out the plastic spacer?
Aight, so I bought the same kit for my bronco except it was a 6" and not a 4". I'm in the process of installing mine rn and I'm having trouble with the add a leaf and I came to your video for some help. I couldn't help but notice that the extra leaf was left out. Is this just a difference between the 4" and 6" kits, or is it something that you opted out of doing.
This truck has a 4" lift on the back and a 6" lift in the front. Someone put some different leaf springs on it that lifted the back up more prior to the kit installation.
I have a question don't know if you can help me you think this lift kit will work on a 97 f250 2wd I'm having a hard time finding a lift that fits I'm only doing it for the looks
If any body can give me answers that would be much appreciated, I have a 1971 Ford f250 camper speacial it's a 2wd and I want to add a little bit of lift to it like 3 to 4 inches but I can't find a lift kit for it and idk what to do, if any body can help me out and point me into the right direction that would be great
Did you have to remove the old passenger axel bracket or can you install the new one over the old one ? I ask because I have a 1990 bronco and the bracket is bolted with one bolt and the rest are headless bolts that seem factory welded
What gears do u have. I have 3.55 on my 94 f150 straight 6 and am wanting to put 33s on mine. I got 31s stock hight but am worried about the gears needed to be changed.
hey i need your help on the self tapping screws ow big where they i have small ones but its slowly going in but not really effective please need your help and how did you get the top one also in the video you had it done already
I am putting in this kit now, I can’t get the pivot bolt on the diff side to line up, it’s off by 1/8”, no matter what I do I can’t get it through. Any ideas or suggestions?
I notice that you were at the Milwaukee brewers stadium I am in Oak Creek how can I get in contact with you? I have a 360 AMC that I'll rather have you put it together for me if you are interested. Thanks
Right? He shows the demo, which anyone can figure out and then cuts to a brand new part already installed as if it were helpful. This certainly isn't an instructional video by any means.
