Ford panoramic sunroof moonroof leaking water into cabin. Including taking f150 pillar apart to review drain hose chanel. Checkout Obsessed Garage video also: • How To Fix Leaking Sun...
Excellent reminder to not get a moonroof. Had it twice and twice had same issue. My ‘19 doesn’t and I do t miss it. As always, Ricardo a well done video.
I was having the same problem with my 2016 f150 with the panoramic roof. The drain tube you showed was separated from the drain. Hooked it back up and now it drains properly! Not sure how it came off, but simple fix for me!
Great video but when you put your garnish trim back in place the weatherstrip should be on the outside of it to keep a good seal to prevent wind noise and water leaks, also another thing is those hoses pop off I would recommend putting some hose clamps to keep in place, overall awesome video sir.
Appreciate the vid, Ricardo. Had the same exact issue in my 2015 F150 Platinum. I used one of those computer dust blaster the kids inhale to clean it out, problem fixed. Also I recommend using a rubber treatment on weather stripping up there every 6 mo or so.
I have an 04 F-150, and my roof began leaking over the passenger seat from the sunroof. This all started about three or four months ago, but I have been unable to get out and fix it due to illness. My interior was in perfect condition and is now ruined with heavy mold everywhere. I plan to clean out the tracks and drains today and then go by a handheld steam cleaner to see if I can get it under control.
Just a suggestion, wipe out all that silt in the track and the plastic reservoir with a damp cloth or else this silt will lead to more plugging up of the drain.
These sunroofs are crap I have exactly the same issue it leaks and won’t close. Mine leaks from the same spot and also from the center of the top console
I you have one with the panoramic sunroof, never forget to tilt it first then open it or else you will fuck up the plastic track and it will end up with the problems on this video
So I have a 2016 Platinum that has a cat pee smell to it after rain, car washes, and humid conditions that I have tracked to the moonroof. I took it to the dealership to have a few issues looked at and asked them to clear the moonroof drains, but the smell is still there. Anyone know where to look to find and clean the smell?
@@Kenwindatt yeap they will need to clean the evap coil, its caused by moisture staying on the coil after short trips with high/max AC usage, easy solution is to hit the intake with lysol and whenever the A/C is used before you arrive to your destination is to turn AC off and just run the fan.
My 2016 JUST starting doing this, but on the passenger's side. I also have that thing where it's stubborn if I haven't opened it in a while. Thanks for the video. About to give this fix a try. Seems that the other possibility was the satellite antenna which would need to be resealed but involves taking down the header, which I REALLY don't want to do.
I'll never own another one. Ive owned a lot of sunroofs in my time and never have ever had to clean a drain or anything ever , this thing I have to 3 or 4 times a year or it just runs all over the Pass side
Soo I check all my drains and it wasn’t that. Turns out that bug deflector WAS THE PROBLEM !! on the ends where it’s bolted on it doesn’t have a seal and it gets lose easily so what I did was put a water proof glue and waterproof tape. I’ll let you guys know if a few weeks if that solved my problem
@@annettemoreno5517 yea, the drain tubes were broken, but it was supposedly just a coincidence that it happened the day after they replaced the sunroof, but ya know what, the truck is 12 years old, so they were almost definitely dry rotted, I know they broke em, but I don’t blame them for not taking blame, but yea, we had also gotten the rear window replaced bc the sliding window didn’t work for years, so we got it replaced with the sunroof, and it was also leaking from the top corners
