Yeah, Rajiu is the new king of the skies. Its stealth and votl abilities completely changed the dogfight landscape. Even pyro couldn’t fight well against Rajiu. But, to quote Rooster from “Top Gun Maverick”; “Its not the plane, it’s the pilot”
That stealth mode is a huge advantage. I feel like before this update there was a little bit of balance at least in ariel combat. The Pyro and the Starling didnt't get cannons but had a sharp turning radius and speed. The lazer and hydra had the strong cannon but lacked the turning and speed. Now, the Raiju is a beast at all of those things along with stealth and vtol.
@@Gdnfxim a lazer main even if they nerfed it, i still dogfight and win against the raiju pilots but idk i miss the old cannon, they tried to "balance" the game by nerfing the lazer and hydra but the raiju is overpowered with that stealth mode, now i Always need to watch my back when i fly randomly
I think lowering the blast radius of the explosive cannon rounds and leaving their fire rate the same would have been a good enough nerf, since players on foot are already such a small target anyway.
The Lazer will continue to be the best in our hearts, the nerf is unfair, only to promote the new jet, if it were not like that the Lazer would continue to reign in the skies
What i see happening with the nerfs is people transitioning to popping and out of stealth mode to attack others 24/7. Overall I got mixed feelings about the nerf, but im still having lots of fun using the submarine and yacht defense combo.
This video is spot on. Every. Single. Point. This kind of video is exactly why 90% of the skilled community goes to you for comparisons instead of the larger RU-vidrs. I will however throw an alternative view on the Lazer nerf being too much. If rockstar simply removed explosive rounds the nerf would be pretty satisfactory for me. Keep up the good work man.
Once they fix the immunity to normal bullets, it'll be very well balanced. Shame that it made both the hydra and lazer completely obsolete. I feel like they need to get some sort of upgrade to make them usable again, since so many people own them already
Sick of how most people are praising this nerf and using the word "griefer" for anybody who doesn't like it. Just because you enjoyed the firepower on these jets doesn't make you a "griefer". Most people using their jets didn't use them to bully other players. I didn't buy a Hydra for these nerfed piece of shit cannons. I purchased it for the overwhelming firepower it had for when shit hit the fan.

I love the Lazer but the new jet is obviously better. Unfortunately I got the jet on release day but have been on vacation since so I've only use it for a few minutes. I can't wait to get home and really use it for a while.
Idk why tf Rockstar didn't make the Laser and Hydra sellable. I soo wanna buy the plane but I only got about 10,980000. And I saving my money for that Buffalo EVX next week if it comes.
The Raiju's overpowered it's insanely fast, has decent armor and stealth which means you never see it coming not forgetting it also has a hover mode which makes it even more powerful.
I believe the nerf was necessary,but they went too far, they should have just nerfed the splash and slightly lower the rate of fire but keep the damage the same
the damage nerf gives the ground player a chance. skilled jet cryhards still hit the target most of the time, if the damage hadnt been nerfed jet griefing would still be an issue

@@uksv1877 I don't use thermal and it's actually tricky to hit someone now without the big splash damage so it takes skill. I don't know why you are coming at me I did say the nerf was necessary just said they went a little too far. Why would a "cry hard" be saying it was necessary then huh???
I didn't rate it at first, but after a bit of practice with using the vtol during dogfighting it can easily outmaneuver anything you throw at it, other than the starlink. And even then, because of the reduced damage from normal bullets, it's not gonna do much even if it hits you multiple times. Add stealth mode and the insane speed to that, and you can easily maintain air superiority until you fuck up or another Raiju sneaks up on you
Raiju its an old classic move to use in Battlefield franchise, just go hover mode and aim that crosshairs to the jet which what makes the Raiju has more advantage.
I just purchased the F-160 and its definitely worth it for the stealth and VTOL alone but then you add the fact its maneuverability is impeccable & youve got yourself one of the best planes in the entire game. I dont use mine for griefing as i prefer to just make money with friends, have fun doing missions and heists. Great video, happy gaming ✌️
I like the Rajiu but i also like to challenge myself by using other planes against it. What makes it easy to spot is the blinking lights i personally have shot down mulitple of them with the b 11 and rogue and 1 with the hydra but that took a while. The rogue i feel is still under rated its all about the pilot but i agree this plane was made for people who cant dog fight so they "try" to sneak up but as long as ur aware of ur surroundings youll be fine
This new jet is my favorite the fact that I can avoid homing missiles by just climbing straight up and activating the mach chicken button (RT/R2) is amazing.
Yeah I was gonna say!!!! I can get behind any Raiju in my starling (I've been flying it since 2017), but the guns don't do anything. I have to get a pilot snipe or have them bail after getting scared 😆
ill still use the lazer, i think that, its about the pilot, not about the jet you use, i main lazer since i was in ps3 i dont wanna leave the lazer like that, ik maybe ill lose against some pilots but ill improve and that's it.

no, lazer is better at dogfighting simply because it is slower and turns tighter. it is also better at air to ground combat due to the speed of the jet and the placement of the cannons being closer. it has its pros. and no, i dont use the lazer and am not defending it for that reason, i always used the hydra or b11.
If The the lazer’s cannons didn’t get nerfed it would still clap the F-160 but also if the buffed the speed on the F-160 cannon it would go from 7.5 to 9

Yeah I would say the raiju is better, but there is another con to it, it is wayyyy newer and has potential of being needed because it is too powerful at release. But overall, it’s my main jet, and I would say it is slightly worth it for 6.8m, but rlly worth it for the trade price of 5.1 m, more worth it then the lazar
I think some of the smugglers runs planes such as the molotok/pyro etc should have got explosive cannons and the lazer/hydra shouldve had gotten countermeasures like the avengers upgrade in this dlc to not powerceep everything imo
Im A old gta 5 player . Came back had a few mill now gonna get a few more to buy the new jet. They always have new cars but not all of them seem worth millions
I cant lie this update just fucked up gta. I dont even turn it on anymore. I will only play 1v1 snipers and aw. And only friendlies cos we dont ewo unless we get the kill. I think ewoing to stop an opponent from getting a kill is just as unrealistic as godmode is.
Bro its not the aircraft that is better, its all about the pilot. Ive seen molotoks and nokotas destroy raijus. Even the damn seabreeze destroyed raijus
the cannon nerf was necessary. the griefing wouldve just gotten worse if they added pre-nerf explo cannons to raiju. no one would be able to do anything bc there would be multiple stealth jets with thermal ready to grief everything.
The Raiju may be better (and in every single way imagineable), but the P996 is free at the military base, and it's not the plane... It's the pilot... Making the P996 still good but the nerf... eh.. It could take on the Raiju, depending on the pilot in the P996
I beat every pilot I had a dogfight with that were using the raiju despite me using the lazer, the only exception were the pilots who snuck up behind while I was casually flying just for fun

Look how they massaced my boy. The game isn't the same anymore. It's just players hiding in stealth in a jet and popping you while you're already in a dogfight. The glory days of gta are over.
@hoplo-sweep5606 yes that kept happening to me. The playstyle has changed over night. They run away and try to sneak. They've given a jet permanent ghost mode.
fire rate got nerfed and yes lazer/hydra cannons do a tad bit more damage than raiju/rogue/b11, 2 hits to kill jet/3 kills to kill jet, 3/6 against pyro
My all time fabourite game to play is a totally new game. Its sad honestly i cant even get on do a headhunter anymore. I still can't believe the deva did this.
Yeah I am pretty sure I am done now. I play on PC where for whatever reason (perhaps because modders are top dog, or perhaps because too many people don't have a controlle and be bothered to become proficient at flying with keyboard) the jets never seemed to be dominant so the nerf kind of blindsided me. However I put most of my GTA skills into learning to fly the jets and I only used my abilities for good, doing headhunter and killing aggressive players who attack first or grief cargo. I was able to survive almost any encounter with a MKII and sometimes take it down. I feel like this is a slap in the face for me. It didn't seem to me like the jets were overpowered because most players didn't take the time to become skilled with them and the powerful cannons were their only strength since they have no armor, countermeasures, stealth or other tricks.
@neandrewthal yes I agree. And they added a railgun that 1 shots jets. That should have been enough. They have totally changed the game its not the same anymore.

I disagree I think the nerf was hugely warranted, 12 year olds can't use It to kill everyone, and it takes actual skill to use now. If you want a death beam, use the savage
They need to revert the laser or give back money cuz the laser should not cost that much now the should keep the hydra how it is cuz it cost 3mill the laser is 6.5mill that nerf was hard,now I only use the new jet every other jet or aircraft sucks ass compared to that
Not 1-circle dogfights. The F-35 (even the A variant which is the best for dogfighting out of all 3 varients) will always lose to an F-16 in a dogfight. It is also much slower and has the impractical ability of being 2x as expensive and a lot harder to run per hour. But yes, in anything involving BVR the F-35 would win.

The F-35A has proven in red flag exercises to be a formidable 1 circle fighter, the F-16 is better than the F-35 at the 2 circle fight/ rate fight. The F-35 is a good dogfighter do to its high AOA and thrust to weight ratio and excellent low speed maneuverability.
@@Fighter_Daily Ah, my mistake. I mixed it up with the F-18. Although I never clarified I never meant to seem like I’m discrediting the F-35A’s dogfighting ability, it is a very capable fighter and can definitely beat other multirole fighters without much extra effort needed from the F-35 pilot. I realised that I was probably too harsh with “will always lose to an F-16” but admittedly the F-16 would most likely have an easier time destroying the F-35 than the F-35 would destroying the F-16. I’m aware the F-16 can be multirole but it is still mainly an air superiority fighter (I’m also a bit biased towards the F-16 as I love the bird). Anyways, thanks for correcting me and providing good points as well. You’ve changed my opinion a bit on the F-35’s capabilities. Hope you have a good day
