Full review of our Concept Canopy setup on the back of our 2017 Ford F350! We've put this canopy setup through its paces over the past 12 months, Caravanning Australia FullTime. So we thought it was about time we reviewed our Concept Canopy we set up for Traveling Australia, including how much it cost, its weights and what we'd change!

WHO ARE WE:
We're Grant and Bianca - two travel enthusiasts who have been exploring and camping across Australia since 2017. Our dream was to caravan around Australia, and when Bianca was made redundant, we saw that as the perfect opportunity to pursue our dream.
In March 2021, we hit the road in our Ford F350 American 4x4 Truck, towing our 2003 Bushtracker Off-Road Caravan with our 2 Dogs Frank and Baxter.
After a year on the road, we realized that caravan life and road tripping were in our blood, and we decided to continue with our journey. We started this channel to document our travels and share the amazing places we've discovered, and the tips we've learned along the way, including the delicious meals we cook on the road, whether in the caravan or over a campfire.

After stacks of looking around Sydney to get someone to build a canopy to our exact specs we ended up going to Concept because, like you said, they'll do whatever you want. Would have preferred to get someone in Sydney instead of trekking to Brisbane for it but in the end, no one here could do what we wanted. Some came close but there were always deal breakers that they couldn't do. We're super happy with ours and although it's had a few minor issues Concept have been right on it and fixed it. We got ours basically empty and I'm doing the fit out as I figure if something is going to go wrong, it's probably going to be something in the electrical department and if I build it, I can fix it. Going back to Brisbane to find it was, say, a blown fuse, would not be practical. We went with the white colour coded to our car and black raptor coating very similar to yours.

thks for the canopy review - honest and well balanced. Would be interested in some tips on what tools to take when touring long term (eg what power tools, mechanic’s stuff, etc) 😅- have you done a review on that aspect?

We are having our canopy built in April with them on our 2017 Amarok. We have gone with their kitchen as it works for the wife. Was going to insulate and carpet but electrician said not until he gets done, but will do then. 👍🏻

@@Livin_Like_Kings_ I can have the wife fly in and have a holiday. Not many will do a canopy for a Amarok. Plus they have been well tested by All4adventure. I’m happy to drive to get something good.

Hi there… Enjoyed the video. Quick question… Do you carry some sort of foldable trailer for launching the tinny, and if so, how do you stow it? Keep up the good work

Ah yes! The trailer, I stow it inside the boat. But when towing the caravan, I stow the trailer in the tunnel boot for ease. I have alternately carried the trailer setup on the boat for short rough trips where trailer might struggle, just used extra straps to secure it.😁👍

It’s a very nice canopy and goes with the truck very nicely. Until we win next weeks 200m PowerBall we’ll be stuck with what we have 🤣. Good to see that you haven’t gone the induction cooktop like so many others. The portable gas option is so more flexible in our opinion. Oh, and couldn’t but help notice the dedicated Ryobi drawer 👍.

Thanks for the review, I really enjoyed it. I might have missed it but what size battery and solar did you fit? Are you happy with those sizes?

😁👍 I had a 125ah battery and 200w solar from our old 200series. Seemed a waste not to use what we had when we weren’t sure how mush power we’d need! Turns out, it’s enough…. So far but wouldn’t mind more!

Hi! We use the factory adblue fill point. However it was upgraded to a slightly wider hose as the angle was altered when we installed the new canopy, now there’s no problem 😉
