It's been seven days since the accident that landed you in a coma. It's the first time I've been able to visit you without breaking down. They say I should talk to you like normal... but I can't just do that.

In 2019 I was in a coma for 2 weeks and it was my wife that brought me back. She was there with me day and night and refused to leave my side. This makes me realize the hell she must have felt watching me struggle on the precipice.

Can you describe the coma? Do you remember anything at all? Or was it like waking up from sleep. One moment to the next?

@@SideStrafed I remember seeing my dad and grandparents all of whom had been deceased for a while before I got sick. But I don’t remember anything leading up to the moment I went into the coma. I remember flashes of the day I came to such as having doctors surrounding my bedside and looking for my wife. It was a very surreal thing to have experienced, to this day when I drive past the hospital I was in and I feel this pull to want to go back.

@@angrymonkey78 that’s interesting I had a slightly different experience, I had overdosed and didn’t wake up until about a week later I think 10 days, for me it was like lucid dreaming I was aware of where I was and it was like I was in a prison desperately trying to get back to my girlfriend (now wife), eventually I did obviously wake up but I was suffering from hypertension and that took a while to recover from, it’s been 4 years since it happened and I’m a lot better than I was, I hope you are doing ok and that all is good ✌️

@@quietdemon8138 I wish I could remember anything but the last lucid memory I had was walking into the hospital ER and saying I can’t breathe. The next thing I remember is 2 weeks later coming to with doctors surrounding my bedside and my wife holding my hand and telling me that I was going to be ok.

I have lost count of how many times I have listened to this, but every single time it brings tears to my eyes. This is easily one of the most underrated audio content creators and this is one of the best audios I have veard. Keep the good work, love your audios!

This audio really hit me. I've been lucky enough to never have it happen to anyone i know but I've been on the ICU, I've worked with patients who have been in comas for sometimes very long times. It is truly a fate i never wish on anyone.

This brings up a bit of a fear of mine, that all this is really just a coma/dream thing, that everything is fake, I constantly wonder that if it is, what's on the other side? Who's waiting for me? You "eat" either through a tube that goes down your nose and into your stomach or through your IV. You "drink" through your IV. And as for going to the bathroom, you have a tube that goes into your bladder for going #1, and you either have a tube that catches #2 or the nurse changes your linens after you go #2.
