Hi I’m not dead (but I do appreciate the sentiment from the handful of you that made efforts to make a wellness check, very sweet of you). I’ve been out of the game for a bit (almost a year since I last posted haha oops), and nothing seems like a better choice for return to form than a vampire audio. My personal favorite genre as it were, plus my book club just finished (as of when I wrote the script but now that it’s come out and you can actually read this I’ve already finished our next book too lol) with Carmilla, which was my suggestion and nobody enjoyed it so now I feel like I need some better lesbian vampire writing. Which speaking of, if any of you have suggestions for good lesbian vampire books hit me up because I need a redemption suggestion lmao. Knowing the friends I’m playing to, ideally something *spicy*. The besties in the club with me like their smut as much as they like their women lmao.
I realize (given the number of comments - since I did go through all of them from the last year) that a lot of you probably wonder why I stopped just as much as why I started again. The stopping was basically just burn out. There was some decent space between my last couple, I was struggling to write consistently and what I did write I wasn’t super satisfied with. I didn’t really take an intentional hiatus; it was more like I just put my time into other things since spending it struggling to write anything felt like a waste. Then I started dating someone too and that romantic energy was mostly going her way, and the creative energy was going to (surprise this has always been a side thing) my main channels/projects anyway so I just had nothing left in the tank to put towards this. And since it was never an intentional break, it never felt like it made sense to comment on.
And I don’t know how back I am. Less than a year before another audio, I promise. But I definitely won’t be back to weekly either. For the time being I will probably match pace with my artist because it takes him about as long to do a character as it takes me to write a script (since it’s very much a side thing for both of us, although he at least is getting paid while I continue to staunchly refuse to make any effort at monetization making this whole endeavor a money sink lmao). Maybe look forward to like 1/month from me?
As for the reason I’m back, my life, like star wars, is like poetry. It rhymes. My very first audio was less than a week after a breakup. And now my first audio after nearly a year is (written and recorded, it’s been a few weeks by the time you can read this) less than a week after a breakup. Free time opened up, starting to listen to other people’s content a little more again, reading the crotch warmers my friends keep recommending for our book club. I’ve suddenly got the time, energy, and inspiration again and here we are. Let’s hope this keeps up so I don’t look like a fool by disappearing again…
