I live in an assisted living "home". My husband got cancer, then almost died of sepsis. He was my main caregiver and I am Bedbound for the last 3 years so I had to leave my home to stay here. Anyway all that to say I'm a night person so I'm on my tablet watching you throughout the night. Well, sir, you have me cracking up with your dialog at times and I'm LOLing when just a few minutes ago they brought me my pain meds. I've been miserable all night. Now, I'm busting out in laughter and putting my hands over my mouth lest the aides think I'm playing the pain. I assure them I'm not! I'm am very happy I found you several weeks ago. I can't tell you how much you cheer me up with your banter about these vipers! Every night I get lessons from the bible and get to LOL too! Thank you for doing what you are doing! We need more men like you protecting the flock of our dear Lord Jesus from all of these wolves especially now in these last days. I pray God will protect your ministry so you can keep doing what you're doing until He calls us to Himself. I'm so glad He gave you your sense of humor! Laughing is like medicine! A few years back, on tv, they were interviewing folks that belonged to his church. They were every race and religion. Some said they were Hindu, Jewish, it seemed every religion was counted for there. They all came to hear him motivate them, that they felt so good after his messages...therein lays the danger. Scripture tells us that the day would come when people can't endure sound doctrine. They go to services for a warm, fuzzy feeling, with itchy ears, Osteen does not disappoint. Yeah, that's not surprising at all. When I was an atheist, I used to go to church with my step-mom (God bless her, she tried EVERYTHING to get me saved, and I think her persistence and prayers did end up helping in the end, so I appreciate her trying to hard and caring that much about me. I hated it back then, but now I'm glad she did that) and I certainly did NOT leave church feeling warm and fuzzy. I left either feeling arrogant because I thought I knew better, OR I'd leave feeling quite nervous and scared because - what if I'm wrong? I'm in serious trouble. I'd say that's the Holy Spirit weighing on me, convicting me. That's what should happen when an atheist or someone of a false religion leaves an ACTUAL church. I'm convinced that Joel Osteen is not just deceived or a guy that thinks he's Christian that just happens to be very very wrong. I think he's literally a Satanist. I think a lot of these guys are. Especially Kenneth Copeland and Jesse Duplantis, and *definitely* Bill Johnson. You have to be PURE evil to blow friggin' gold glitter out of the air vents of your church to try to convince you're followers that literal Hobby Lobby glitter is a "glory cloud," the actual presence of God. Bill Johnson's church does crap like that. That guy is in for a very rude awakening on Judgement Day.

Did you know that he confessed to never actually studying the bible. He has never opened nor studied the bible. So it makes you wonder, who actually writes his sugary coated, feel good sermons for him. He tries to throw in the occasional scripture but only as an effort to give his malarkey some credibility. LOL And that Osteen mantra!! "This is my bible, blah blah...." .... he says that every single time. Do his congregation not get sick of hearing it? Man they must be under some hypnotic spell to want to keep coming back every Sunday to listen to all that nonsense.

Bingo. I might actually be ok with Joel if he took up the motivational speaker title. Removing God/Jesus/Scripture from his talks should not be a big deal for him as his "sermons" are already devoid of these and he only makes stuff up.

Here is a man raised in safety, luxury and vanity. He has no depth from pain and suffering to draw upon. He's been handed "worldly" success, a ready made church and income; and the guilt likely drives him to make you think he worked for it with positive thinking, and so can you have the same result.
I agree, but have only noticed that he never looks directly at the camera/audience, and doesn't maintain eye contact for very long. He closes his eyes constantly too.

I've had a chronic pain/chronic fatigue disorder for decades. One Sunday morning Joel told a story about how a woman was healed of the same disorder because she followed his suggestion that she watch Seinfeld reruns because she just needed to laugh. Apparently you can just laugh your way out of anything. Thanks for exposing these people who have nothing to offer a hurting world in need of the comfort of knowing the real gospel of Jesus.

Robin Moore I think that Joel's appeal is the fact that he has a comforting voice with no sharp reprimanding tone. When I have seen him being interviewed he is very accepting of whomever is speaking with him and very receptive to what they are expressing & feeling. I also believe that people who have been badly abused & yelled at and treated harshly would feel at ease with Joel. I really think that if he were to become a biblical Christian preaching the true gospel, that he would have so much to offer, because, again, he is a very personable man. Of course, I have no idea what he is like on his own time. I just wanted to respond and let you know my opinion.
I think that we all know deep down in our being when we hear Joel Osteen that he speaks from within himself. From his self. Elevating the self. This is death conveyed in the end and the sense of dryness in our spirit. Only Christ is to be preached, spoken out. Only His Word, His eternal will may be preached, exposed, explained that we might touch Life, Light and true nourishment.
At least I can now just think myself out of the grips of the devil. I no longer have to go chasing him around and bind him “in the name of Jesus“. I can now just think myself out of his power!!

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king. All false teachers are rejected by God. God says in Jude 1:13-15. The blackness of darkness has been prepared for them forever. Thats God's verdict on them. You would not find one Scripture instructing us to pray for false teachers, If they were living in O.T. times most of them would have been killed. They are disguisesd Devil's ministers of righteousness, 2 Cor.11:14-15, they think that the Almighty Holy God is just like them, but He will rebuke them and present the case before them. Ps. 50:21. How man souls have they deceived into purdishen. Jesus said to the religious Pharisses of his day, in Matt 23:15. When they convert someone to their own religious beliefs and succeed in doing it, Jesus said you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are. Please let us pray for the people who are deceived by false teachers, and ask God to deliver them from the Devil and his lies he always propagates through false teachers. You want to know how to spot a false teacher, its easy to spot if you truly know the word of God and have shown yourself approved unto God rightly dividing His word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15. When you study, please pray for God to give you wisdom and spiritual understanding concerning His word of truth. James 1:5, and God promises He will give it to you.
Hi!! Coming into this video in 2023, Hi Pirate Captain. You were about 3.5 seconds into him speaking and I hear Beth Moore in my head, she pulled this same kinda mantra in the Believing God series that I did about 16 years ago... [shudder...] Thank you for slogging through these, and reminding me that I knew something was wrong and that I got out and found freedom in salvation and Scripture as it is truthfully is, not the shlock that the motivational speaker disguised as pastors spew.

Joel's theology is we save our self and by working hard and having more good deeds than bad deeds we get to Heaven. John Macarthur said Joel Osteen is absolutely right. If you follow Joel's way this will be your best life now, it will be a whole lot better than the next one.
When I became an Eastern Orthodox Christian, I wondered why "the 3 children in the furnace" show up at every feast or fast somewhere. Now, I get it. We must ever exist in the place of "Our God can save us from this. But, even if He doesn't, we will follow Him."
Every time I hear one of these heretics (and especially Joel Osteen) I feel the need to get out my hymn book and sing “Lord, Keep Us steadfast in Your Word” (LSB 655) - Martin Luther had these people’s number.
So when Osteen says that sometimes Satan doesn't have to come to us, we go to him. Yes, like when people show up at Lakewood, for example. So he's right about that one, at least.
You mentioned several times what Jesus saved us from. I recently watched a RU-vid video of some guy (I forgot who it was) and he stopped two missionaries and interviewed them for almost an hour. He was raised Catholic and he was just truly interested in what Mormons believe, etc. He asked the the two missionaries what did Jesus save us from and both missionaries replied that they didn’t know and that was a good question. I was like “what!?”. How can they not know what Jesus saved us from? The missionaries go out everyday and they don’t know...unbelievable!
"I think myself happy" is an olde english phrase for "I am happy" or "I consider myself happy" it's really old english and is NOT Paul using positive thoughts or the "secret" and Joel knows this !
My ladies group at church was really into this positive-thinking stuff, and many of them probably still are. That group has mostly broken up now, about the same time i came to realize this kind of stuff is garbage !! I was always against Osteen and Meyer, but MANY others teach this junk too. I am soooo grateful God showed me His truth, real truth!!

IF Joel Osteen were to argue from the perspective of the triviality of all momentary problems relative to an eternity of joy promised unto those who are born again in faith in Jesus, in Romans 8:18 (no trouble of this present world is to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us) and the hope of the certainty that all things (even bad painful and sad things) work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose (Roman 8:28) _then Osteen's arguments would not be so bad because he would be combining the joy of the hope of the gospel!_ But that is not how he does it... but even worse, Osteen then concludes we need to shed our affiliation with the very mission field of broken people to whom God commands that the gospel be sent! God LOVES a broken spirit and a contrite heart (Psalm 51:17, 34:18 etc) but Osteen says from such turn away..
Pastor Chris, Ya know, Joel's dad did that, "This is my Bible" thing all the time, only he preached the actual Gospel. I also said, "Oh no you won't" at the SAME time you did! I died! Oh and "Coke"..Ya owe me one! (NO Pepsi!) Excellent video, I laughed so much! BTW --The KJV says "Dry places" not waterless as in the ESV.
