Awesome! I would love to completely tear down a 2.5RS & rebuild it on my channel someday. I want to do something that hasn't been done a million times over, so I am considering dropping in an FA20. Good to know a top-notch company like iWire can support that.
Oh shoot it's HawkEyeSTiGuy, yeah everyone puts an older EJ into the 2.5RS. I was contemplating buying someone's 180K mile plus 2.5RS and doing the same dropping in an FA20. The FA20 puts out insane power for pump gas. I watched the FA20 Crawford Performance built.

I just took mine out to rebuild right cyl head bc i bought the car on auction and ofc it broke the timing cover and right head... anywaysss, as far as I seen they are straight forward, one main connection to ecu and thats it. When it comes to wiring, it's super simpme and straight forward so it should be an easy or slightly easy swap!

Have you got any clips or photos of the turbo setup? I'm looking at trying to put that turbo setup into my 1st gen legacy and want to know if it clears the radiator (amongst other things)

Unfortunately there really isn't anything available for this swap as of yet. To the difficulty and expense on the electronics side it has prohibited any progress on the mechanical side.
I know the wiring process would be difficult but in terms of mounting the engine does an fa motor mount just like an ej? Or do you need to create your own brackets or modify the engine bay at all?
How do you do this? I have a 16 wrx that I woulfike to take the engine out of to put in my gc I was going na-t on my 22 but wanted to see if I could swap in my fa instead
It's pretty complex to do and not available as a swap as of right now. Hopefully soon and at that point it will require a harness merge to be plug and play, but for now I would stick with a standard EJ turbo platform. The turbo kit route is going to lead to a swap anyway, so you might as well put a turbo engine in it to save the time and money of the intermediate step of the turbo kit. www.iwireservices.com/post/2019/05/28/easy-subaru-swap-engine-choices
@SenselessTuning Honestly not sure. We didn't do the mechanical bits of this project and you can contact Speed_USA on Instagram because it's his car but yes, there are a ton of issues to solve mechanically as well as electrically with this swap.
