As a Southwest flyer I have been clearly disappointed with the airline lately; the other night trying to get home; took 10 hours rather than 3 and1/2 . The delays just cascaded once we hit Baltimore. I think they may have to rename the airline South Worst. Incidentally I feel for the vast majority of their employees who are trying to do their best with not the best computer systems and are put on the firing line trying to explain corporate incompetence. That I blame on Corporate HQ and who ever is in charge.
Our trip to TN was destroyed over Christmas, we rescheduled to spring break and we had to take a flight that required a 3AM wakeup with a 2 year old. That flight then got cancelled the morning of, without notification, once we made it to the airport. They offered a re-book that would get us into Chicago late at night, with no way of getting to TN. We would have been stranded. We then had to reschedule for the next day, got to wake up a couple hours later but we didn't get to TN until midnight. My wife said, "I don't think I'll be flying with Southwest again." I said, "You don't THINK? I KNOW I won't be."
Southwest at it again huh? When will they Fix these technical issues? Theyvsytanded me during Christmas time and it seems they still haven't figured it out
This reporter is not good. Let me tell you why. He is talking about they had issues due to staffing what he’s not telling you is that Southwest had an increase of people wanting to fly with them and because of that they could not accommodate not that they had an issue with staffing on a normal day-to-day basis. Yes, Southwest had an issue around the Christmas holiday and they compensated people for that.
I had this experience in March. What should have been a 2hr layover turned into 51/2 hours of sitting in an airport and slowing watching shops close and employees going home.
@@Muzzlecrowe-li9kt I'm not housebound, I go hunting and fishing, anything else I want to see probably has pictures online. I don't lament not being able to travel to Pluto, and am satisfied with images of it. Why would I treat the majority of the earth differently?
Wth are they doing? I’ve flown southwest religiously from my local airport. They have gone downhill steadily. I’m switching to American. Their first class tickets are on par price wise with southwests business class….which doesn’t provide bigger seats or extra perks other than getting on the plane first. Whoopty doo. SMH
I started flying every couple of months from east coast to California in 2021 to visit my friend and I always take American. It’s often more than Southwest and Spirit, but it’s worth it to me because it is not abysmal. They also serve drinks and snacks still.
It isn't an "issue", it's a *problem* . "Issue" is just a weaselword Microsoft has foisted off on the public so they can avoid saying the 'p' word (or, heaven forbid, "bug").

This is happening across all industries, planes, trains, shipping, ... Boomers are retiring and replacements don't have skills and work ethic of senior citizens. This country's workforce has changed and not for the better.
