My grandparents had this very tape and we use to watch the heck out of it when I was younger. I know a lot of these dances. I remember there was a faleaitu during this where the old man was the Samoan Elvis lol. "Ua makika Ua makika lalalalalala Amene" is all I remember hahaha I wonder if that part is on youtube? I'm filled with so much joy to see this. Brings back memories!
Good. No pianos, no guitars, no stereos; it's just the pate;that's the way it should be, for that is original. Sadly, that is hardly the case today.Pianos & such make it fake & rob our traditional dances of thier original taste.Sometimes, it's so bad, I wonder if some are performing the hokey-pokey or the siva.Lastly, we should quit singing traditional songs as if they are R&B or opra songs.
