I am so excited that you got these pencils! I can't wait to see what beautiful works you create with them. FC Polychromos are my favorite colored pencils. I do love the range of colors that Prismacolor offers, but the performance of the Polychromos is superior. They are so good for details, and they also layer beautifully. They require a different technique compared to Prismacolors - lots of light layering. It may take a while to learn how to work with them after being used to Prismacolors, but I think you will love them.

@I am Jane You're absolutely right, I've alreadt tried them and I noticed that polychromos pencils are layering much easily I would say...? And I like them a lot. I only wish it could be more range of colors like in Prismas. I guess I will combine these sets together 🙂

@@Alchemyofcolor I think if you combine them, you will have every color you would ever need! I hope someday Faber Castell will add more colors to the Polychromos line!

I love both polys and prismas. Using each requires different technique but it keeps me from getting bored 😊

light layering, and a lot of layers and patience.. I thought they dont work until I did this.. took me years to understand them@@Alchemyofcolor

I bought these because they are supposed to be better than prismacolor but I Beg to differ. It takes too long to develop the color and I have to use my blending pencil.

@Ericka Fergus They are different than prismas for sure. Need to get used to. I also just bought it and will learn to use 😉
