Somewhere there is a perfect magic system that is between 3 and 1 that I think would be perfect, spell mixing with simple casting. The nice thing is, I bet with the new games, if they do good, will cause the older ones to get remastered.
I mean, I enjoyed the heck out of assassin's creed Odyssey, all the choices really had an impact there, at the time it felt like the closes thing to playing a new Fable since the one they announced 800 years ago with Halo Infinite. Hopefully even though I'll be 60 when it releases, it will be even better than what Assassin's Creed did, I half hoped the people who made that game on board with them, that would very unlikely, but just epic to think about the potential masterpiece that could come from it.
One mager thing I loved about fable 2 is how you age and how you don't customize your character but out of your actions it changes the way you look and you never end up looking the same in your playthrough the good / evil thing was just done so well!
I think this is also due to having 2 mortality masters that affect your looks. Morality, and then purity. You can be a moral person and be very corrupt (ie charging crazy rent). By having those 2 meters the combos increase experientially, making each run feel different
But charm does have to count for something! Not that Skyrim is entirely charmless, it felt like the fallout 3 - Skyrim Bethesda was like when Nolan's Batman made everything dark and gritty. Oblivion has a lot of charm, imo more so than Morrowind. And maybe it's just the setting is so charmless, a tundra with humorless Nord's. But I was happy to have fallout 4 be pretty silly in comparison
I don’t think skyrim have better graphics than Fable ii tbh, don’t even think it has better graphics than the lost chapters lol but it is understandable since it is open world
So the reason I made this, is that you actually can stream it through the Xbox game/gamepass to PC and it runs surprisingly well, at least it did for me. If you have the time/money, I would subscribe for a month and check it out. In my opinion, it's worth it.
My dream game that exists in my head is Fable 2 freedom, consequences and customization, Dragons Dogma combat and enemy design, and (modded) Skyrim's ability to create/adjust the world, characters, and anything else you can dream of.
I would add onto that Quest for Glory's levelling system. Build stats by doing (not dissimilar to Elder Scrolls or Final Fantasy 2, but less reliant on combat) but you can't train anything you can't do to start with.
Fable TLC was such great game for me , to the point I stopped play PS games, all I wanted was an Xbox 360 at the time, just to play fable 2, and it was worth it,and even with the downfall of fable III I still enjoyed it, then Microsoft closed Lionhead studios and i felt like betrayed, It's been so many years and when Microsoft announced a new fable game by other studio I wasn't sure about it, then the trailer was released and it doesn't look anything like the old fable games, I'm gonna miss those old games
Oh you didn't hear? Once you get your combat multiplier even higher, it becomes a open world. JK fr fr I hated that hob killing mission so much I can't remember anything more about the combat lol
@@TibsTV you had like 30 spells, and you had 3 of them set to buttons at a time and holding down a trigger let you swap between the sets of three spells selected at a time, the spells could be cast over each other so you could combine spell effects with weapons, you could slow time, summon flying swords and shoot arrows that split into more arrows all at the same time. then switch again and do even more crazy stuff

@@TibsTV Yeah, the Fallout/Wasteland timeline is a really interesting one with lots of crossover. Wasteland 1 being the Great Grandaddy of both games. I love all 3 but the third is definitely the most accessible for newcomers. The first 2 especially the sequel are incredibly brutal difficulty wise. I could see the game providing you with a BUNCH of ideas for content because it is incredibly dense.
You know what’s better than shit glitchy open world game. A nice linear game that I can finish in a reasonable time that has good direction like Morrowind
Yeah my big hope with the reboot is that they don't try and mess with the formula too much. Fable is this wonderful world that does have some features most RPGs lack, time passing, families, humor. But doesn't try to hard to be some grand action adventure. It's about the fun of the world and writing, and if they can bring that in, I'll be ecstatic
@@TibsTV As long as its got a good story, humor, and music I think it’ll be good the music and humor is a big part of the charm its got. Some influence from Fable 1 would be nice tho.

@@TibsTV Lmaoo shit if im being specific The way the Guild Master told the story as you progressed with the murals is a real nice concept. A boss like Jack not exactly alike as a character, but the way he was hyped up a lot through the game which made finally facing him that much better. Also the the bosses and their back stories were nice like Twinblade n’ Maze it just gave the story a little more life. I think we’ll get this though maybe not the back story part, but the diversity for sure. Plus armor diversity in Fable 1 there was actually heavy and light, but we’ll more than likely get that too.

Oh yeah, I don't love everything Nintendo does. But their launch of Pikmin is a perfect example of how to restart hype in a returning franchise, first thing is making the old games better/playable. Microsoft could, and I hope they do, remaster fable 2 before the new one
Ive recently played both . ( probably why ì got recommend this video). I had a blast witg fable 2 when it came out but it has not aged well. Everything in the game is completely broken and has one of the worst story plots in gaming history. Controls are janky and broken ( dont think that speed boost you mention is intended), the combat is broken , the magig system sucks , there no cool armors and the clothing options are mostly silly , theres barley any enemy types , there no bosses , even the end of the game you dont even fight lucien ffs , just one shot him or reaver does if your listening to the dialog. Hell ,even the good and evil system broken when you basically become the real estate god and by your way to good points. One thing i can say they got right was the humour . The game is down right hilarious at points. But comparing it to skyrim is a pretty hot take when people are still playing it 12 years later.
Oh yeah I think that Skyrim is a better game. Like don't get me wrong, there is just so much more in Skyrim. But some of that is frustrating to use (crafting/enchanting), things break (worse than in fable), and the tone is very serious. Even compared to other Bethesda/Elder Scrolls games, Skyrim toned down the silliness factor by a huge amount. Oblivion is a very self aware, and humorous game that makes the adventure seem more fantastic than Skyrim. Even if oblivion was less grounded and lacked impact with its narrative/gameplay. Kinda like comparing lord of the rings, to game of thrones. Both great fantasy, but one is different more "fun/happy/bright" then the other
To me, gaming is more on the GLITCHES of the game, I love Fable, Fallout, and TES because the games in that series are BROKEN, and generally funny with how broken it is. And with Mods, they're even more fun. What I'm saying is all these games have infinite fun and there's no "more fun" in a certain game. They're all equally fun in everyone's different eyes.
I don’t understand this sarcasm, i assume from the comments that you are being sarcastic, right? So what is it about this game? I never played the second one, because i never owned any xbox consoles, but loved playing the first on my pc... What would be your honest opinion on the game, you really think it is better than Skyrim? I mean, the first one was good, but had flaws combat wise really. Its a hack and slash combat system with no depth really, you just upgrade yourself and buy better weapons and stuff, so it is pretty linear. Any info on this would be really appreciated!
Oh nice an actual question! To your point, I think that Skyrim is a better game than Fable. The lore, the combat, the scope, and especially the mods. Put it above Fable in the sense that if I had to choose one game to buy or take with me on a deserted island, it would be Skyrim. I'm general, there is just so much more too it. But what Fable is, is more "fun". Now when I say fun, it is hard to qualify because fun is different to different people. To some, slamming against a boss, learning more death after death, and finally beating that boss, is great ful. To others it is a slog to get through, and feels like more work than fun. The "fun" I'm referring to in the title is the tone and feeling off Fable, mainly the fact it doesn't take itself very seriously. In Skyrim, you can do a lot of what you can do in fable. But let's look at marriage for now. In Skyrim you can marry a certain set of people, but then after there isn't much to do. You can't bang, can't have kids, can't cheat, can't divorce (maybe you can... with an axe to the head), but in Fable you can be evil, you can cheat, get married to multiple people, and even have quests happen because of those choices (like the blackmail one in the video). All in all, skyrims systems might be more advanced, but Fables are more focused on rewarding or punishing the player, making player action more fun. Then there is the humor in the writing and characters, which is something that I think Skyrim struggles with compared to Morrowind, fallout, and oblivion.
Risen is hard for a lot of the same reasons that Elden Ring is; no quest markers (not inherently a bad thing), dodge based combat, and complex stat systems. But I think Elden Ring feels easier because runbacks are short, summons, and the general fluidity of the combat makes it more fun. But honestly I'm not done with Risen, I love the systems in it. Playing through it rn and it's kicking my ass, I hate combat, but it is one of the only games that gives the player tons of tools outside combat. For that, I'm really enjoying it. Planning on doing a video on it soon
I found Fable 2 to be a woeful sequel personally, identity-wise it felt like an American's view of "Britishness" and that along with a myriad of gameplay issues prevented me from enjoying it. The original version of Fable & TLC (not the abomination that was Anniversary) were authentically British and presented a unique RPG setting. Skyrim is like McDonalds - the quality is questionable to say the least yet you continually find yourself returning to it because of the additives (large open world with freeform-ish content) that warp your neurotransmitter receptor sites into forming an addiction.
That's actually a pretty interesting perspective because it really spoke to me as an American with views on the British lol. I weirdly think my problem with, Fable one is literally I don't think the tech was there yet. It feels really cramped, even if it does use the map to it's best. But the fighting is just a bit too choppy (I will never forget that Hobb killing contest. Brutal). But I would definitely say it has the best story, really hope Jack is back in the reboot (can't see how they won't). But unfortunately as a totally ignorant American, I kinda love the Monty Python humor. It doesn't always land, but being a giant chicken with massive hammer is great .
