I didn't have many good times with my ex-wife but playing Fable 2 was one of the few thing that brought us happiness together. When we would talk about things in our past life, the Fable games were frequently brought up. Sometimes life doesn't go the way you want but always try and make the best of things. Thank you for those wonderful memories.
I absolutely love this thread. Every commenter here is a genuine person and I feel so happy reading through. Thank you everyone. Thank you Fable. Thank you Bowerlake.
So this takes me back to when I was around 19 years old, travelling on the bus in the cold and wet to get this game at 8:30 in the morning. I got home in the dry and warm and played it all day. I recently starting playing it again on my Xbox One X and it destroys anything I have played in more recent years. Maybe because it's one of the best games or maybe because it takes me back to being young and not having a mortgage to pay.
Thank you for this video.. made my day better! I was reading the comments and couldn't stop smiling as i realized how much this game had a impact of each one of us. Most of us must be in our mid 20' / early 30' right now.. how time flies old friends! I never had the chance to start with the 1st Fable, but i was around 16 when the 2nd one came, and immediately i felt in love.. (i'm a LOTR fan so make sense 😄) Dreaming of adventures in the front of my small tv with my little brother, enjoying the universe of Fable without thinking that one day, i would miss those good ol' days. Years later i left my family and moved from France to US, met my wife and got 3 little boys.. and tell them how much i miss those good old day with their Uncle that i haven't seen since almost 3 years.. This video hit me hard, but only with sweet memories.. Thank you for that! And if my brother one day tumble on this com.. i miss you so much and i love you! Can't wait to see you again in real life or maybe in Fable 4.. ❤
After playing some more Fable 2 on my mam's Xbox one. I have come to terms with this being Fable 2s equivalent of Summer Fields. Which makes sense, it's not far from Lookout Points original location.
There has never been more atmospheric music in a game than fable II and none more so than bowerstone lake. A long a beautiful track that has both hints of an optimistic spring and a cold long winter. It fills you with this longing for a sunshine that has long faded, but also hopeful for the next sunrise.
I know its pretty dark in comparison to most of these comments but I genuinely consider this for my funeral music. Fable isn't my favorite game out there but damn this game means so much to me that I cant explain for some reason- all I know is that it was a staple of my childhood but it was also something me and my brother bonded over so much when we were younger, that meant allot to me as we don't see eye to eye as much as we once did. Plus if I pass away before him, he will know what this is and i wanna make him cry xD
It's the outlet tunes being played on outlet pipes. It's an ode to Braveheart. Beautifully done. And nothing dark at all. When we die we wont have words left to say. A tune like this is more than fair as a farewell at anyone's funeral where words will fail. All's Well or Njoll by Jeremy Soule are also worth a listen.
Joshua Wright will defiantly give them look! Thank you :) Edit: very familiar with All’s well- can’t believe I didn’t recognise that at first. Njól however, never heard that. Very beautiful, yet saddening.
Also, I think it's important to note that death doesn't have to be overwhelmingly sad. I think it's cool you can envision your own funeral as something triumphant. Many cultures see death this way (Dia De Los Muertos comes to mind).
i remember falling in love with Fable 2 whenever the demo dropped on 360. i’d play it over and over again and eventually i got it as a gift on christmas
My childhood, I have so many memories of Bowerlake. What a wonderful location. The song, the sounds and the places… Everything reminds me of when I was a joyous and happy kid. Fable 2 will always be my favorite game of all time.
There were times I would just go on to this game for 30 minutes of an evening to take a walk around Bower Lake with my dog and throw ball. (not allowed a real dog) It was great to escape for a bit and this music was so much a part of that.
I love listening to this and taking everything in. The sweet smell of a fresh cut lawn, turning over a garden absorbing the heady earthy scent, watching the birds around me. It makes life wonderful. I hope you find your peace.
I love Fable so much that i want it to be the main setting of my afterlife. After my death i hope to be transported to a realm where everything is set up just like Fable. Even with the music playing all around me everywhere i go. And i will be able to explore different regions, villages, etc and will be known to all as Hero, just like in the game! 😊
Fable has been such a part of my Middle School/Highschool years. I now come back to these tracks for inspiration for Dungeons and Dragons and stories of my own. Looking forward to the next Fable to come out!
such a nostalgic soundtrack. i've played through fable 2 more times than i can count but i would always hang out around bowerlake the most because the music was super relaxing, i even remember lying down in bed and napping to this music a lot! i'll never give up hope of the possibility of fable 4 - its one of my favourite franchises and there's so much that could be done with this game universe and i'm so disappointed that no one has touched it since LionHead. i really hope that the rumours about playgroundgames are true and it'll come back on next gen
this composition has so many wonderful notes. it's a song with hidden meanings; a blessing for those who have played and enjoyed the Fable Series. Thank you.😇😇😇😇😇
This music would fit in Braveheart! I remember just standing still in bower lake and just listening to the music and looking around at the beautiful environment!
I think the fable games were some of the most comforting games I've ever played. Just cosy. They were some of my favourite worlds to escape into and the music added a lot to it. This and summer fields from the first game are beautiful pieces of music.
Nostalgia hitting hard. So many great memories with this game. Remember being so excited when it came out I ran to GameStop on my lunch break to buy it
Thank you so much for this. I've been listening to Skyrim and Assassin's Creed ambience mixes for my essay writing but was looking for something different, this is perfect!
This is beautiful, I just started a new playthrough for the first time in years and when this music kicked in, I just stopped and listened for a bit, super relaxing and nostalgic.
Love listening to this when life deals you one of *those* moments. Good music to sit and remember what life is really all about. Typical cringe aside, this has genuinely helped me through more tough times than I can remember ❤️
Now, look down towards the lake. The seal will allow you to enter that tomb. In its darkest depths lies the Chamber of Fate, when you come out again you will be stronger, much stronger. Now go
"The world used to be much larger, Hero. Don't you remember? Albion! It's still there, waiting. The world had gotten smaller, but the world is still there; waiting for your Fable."
It's a secret escape, like a secret door I can just slip out through. Immediately all the weight of the world dissipates and a smooth calm floods me as I gaze over the grassy banks of Bowerlake.
I used to play fable with all my friends back in the day, and we'd tease each other over how many STDs you'd have when the little bubble thing popped up back in the day on one of the maps during a meet up. One day, we all had a contest for who could get the most STDs (because it just kept stacking into the hundreds for some reason) for a 2 week Xbox gold card my buddy got with a game. Times were alot simper back then, I'm disheartened to see this series fall so far, but there's hope in fable 4, I hope I get to go the tower again where rose was...put down, so I can pay some respects to sparrow, chicken chaser, master chief, or whatever you called your character.
Started a new game after many years.. Coming back here, I grew a sigh of a relief.. that I’ve returned home. My childself exploring the art of this beautiful world all over again. Appreciating the work more than ever. Scanning all details and falling in its lovely grasp.
Adding to the theme of everyone else's comments, this music is highly nostalgic. I'm transported back to graduate school in London listening to the soundtrack while studying (having played it many years before) where the music seemed to perfectly match my surroundings. Funny how just a video game can have such an impact on someone's life and provide so much comfort. Thanks for sharing this.
nice start art for the slides... at least for those that remembers the vistas of the previous game , its fragments of mythological history and such... since ,well you got the spire in the background ,yet instead of a metropolis around it ,its a single coastal town in its early days of industrial innovation and all the short sighted things that leads ,to such as deforestation slums etc , being almost a mirror to the arrogance that wrought the spire forth the first time.. as concept art its a nice compare to the vistas in the first fable game... no lush forests of gaia hiding ruins with relics as dangerous to the incompetent as they are powerful , no flourishing bio sphere replenishing the land and mending the wounds of the previous civilizations reckless actions be it by magic or nano tech
I feel like I have to trow my hat into the ring here. I loved this game like a home away from home for so many years and I genuinely miss being there. Glad you guys all feel the same.
Bower lake is actually the lookout point from Fable 1 just 500 years later and the guild cave is actually the ruins of the heroes guild the place you stay at after you flee oakvale after it got burnt down
whoa really? i always loved how the series advanced and it showed how places changed. i figured the hero's guild was where the cave was but i didn't know lookout point was where bower lake was, i figured it was farther away cuz of the reshaping of land or something. fable 2 had the best scenery and locations imo. something about the game beckoned me to keep exploring as much as i could.
Yeah sad about oakvale turning into wraithmarsh tho. You can here what happened to them after the bandit attack in the song hammer sings went you first meet her.
WOOOO THANK YOU AGIN so perfect i plan to make videos of fable game play having my characet hang out and walk around fable for HOURS with fable music play lists over it :)
Hey guys, do you know what the beautiful instrument used for much of this is? Bagpipes? It sounds very Scottish. Russell did an amazing job with this piece and it's my favourite out of all 3 games.
It's called an uilleann pipe, it's an Irish variant of the bagpipes. It literally translates to elbow pipes because it is pumped with bellows under the elbow instead of being blown into like the bagpipes.
Thank you for creating an 1 hour ambience music of Bowerlake. My enquiry is if you could do it without the ambience sound in the background? Thank you again!
Tell me I wasn't the only one to use the fable pub games cheat to get a ton of money before this came out? If you're not aware of the glitch as a marketing device lionhead released three pub games as an Xbox live arcade title several months before the release of Fable stating that any money made could be transferred to the game. There was a game called Fortune's Tower and if you move made the maximum bet and then backed out as the cards were dealing you would get double your money back. Now they did fix this glitch but not before my friend and I made a few million lol
It's currently playable through the emulator Xenia. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RBZx5TR-T64.html Just depends if you have a fast enough PC to play it at full speed. Xbox Game Pass is also another option to play it on PC (via cloud streaming) But playing it on the Xbox 360 is currently the best way. Or I suppose backwards compatibility for Series X, or Xbox One would suffice.
@@TheFableHistorian yes true i tried it but i cant figure out to make it work. Bought a xbox for 30 euro en fable 2 and 3 4 euro together. So i can play it with the wife.
