I agree. I was just thinking that yesterday when I was listening to the remix on repeat. I do tho think my favorite all time is between This beat and the one for "U don't Know" by Jay z
@@alexandreavelar9384 dang bro I never really focused on the production side more just the lyrics and the actual rapper, from the discography you just named he def a legend! Any other albums you’d recommend? Or just tracks?
That ill ass sample, over that punchy ass kick, that thick ass snare and those dirty ass high hat. I miss those types of drum kits. Just Blaze = Legend
james myers You know Fab said it wasn't actually saying "breathe" and he had already put together half the song with breathing metaphors n rhymes so Just Blaze said he's gonna change it to say breathe
2022 AND I'M STILL LOOKING THIS BEAT UP TO PLAY! 48 YRS OLD AND THIS JUST THREW ME BACK... I USED TO PRODUCE BEATS MYSELF AND I USED TO SAY WHEN THIS FIRST CAME OUT LIKE YO THAT BASS AND THAT KICK WITH THE PERCS.... SNARES... FUCK!!! STILL CRAZED OUT ON THIS TRACK!!!!!
They were not happy about the sample though. They wanted 100.000$ + earnings from the publishing. Like, bro, chill, it's a sample. Those rock musicians were absolute dickheads when it came to sampling their music.
Just breath, but I can't... they won't let me be Millions of worker bees, they smoked out the collective peace It should had em peeved, but it's like they OD'd Odd... so many facts don't get factored or seen Tearing social fabric seams, they glued to a screen Like they be biting, fighting, and jabbing the spleens Come clean or speak true, they act like that's obscene If I had people in my corner, we would have made a Billie Jean But now I'm running out of steam, like Freddie, he killed my dreams Waking up with a scream, head wet in a cold sweat If trouble comes, they disappear like special effects I have many regrets, but still I put my faith The Lord The flesh is feeble, but the spirit of the word is a sword So my music, it should be reverent, like heavenly chords Been going overboard, was trying to win some awards But the Crown of Life is victory, that's the righteous reward
I don't give a shit, one of the hardest beats ever. Fab killed it too, I was being a rap snob back in the day, but he crushed it. I love hard piano beats. This, Jadakiss Time is up, Still D.R.E. KRS One Step Into a World. So many dope piano beats. I'm tired so I can't think too hard atm, but my god...give me a hard baseline on some dope violin or piano and I'm all in.
This Is My Favorite Hip-Hop Song - Instru-Mental - Breathe - David John Jackson MyFabolousLife [Produced By Justin Smith DJ JustBlaze] [Year: 2004] [Album: Real Talk]
@@generaljemz8985 Eh. That's debatable. Hot song though, but tell me which one do you think is the better beat: Dead Presidents or UGK's International Players Anthem
Unsure if anyone has posted this here yet, but the sample to this beat is Supertramp's "The Crime Of The Century". I love what Blaze does with this beat. He basically takes the rising piano section, plays it all in sections forward, and then plays it in reverse. Those little "Breathe" and "Uh"s you're hearing is a pitched up version of Supertramp's singer Rick Davies. The word "Breathe" is a pitched up version of Davies saying, "...up and see!" How he says the last part is pitched to such a way that if you were to play it fast enough, it'd sound like the end of the word "Breathe". The other "Uh"s are vocalizations that Davies makes in time with the piano at several key points in "Crime of the Century". I feel as though Blaze was given the lyrics to Fabolos' track first before actually making the beat itself, which may have inspired him to dig deep into the wax. It's a really intelligent beat that I feel doesn't get enough credit.
