Thank you so much! It's been a while since we've had a challenge, it was time we brought it back! I hear Hannah has something fun in the works for all of the ladies on our team at Fabric Café as well....😊
I really like both of John's quilts. The Orange for myself. The motorcycle for my brother. He recently rode his Harley from NC to Sturgis. I would love to he able to afford the fabrics for this for him. His 60th bd is coming up in July. Hope to squeeze it into the budget.
Really enjoyed watching this challenge. Love to see individualities in selecting fabrics! Great idea! Love Roman holiday pattern- works great with panels too! Really liked Fran’s daisies and John’s orange delight! Great challenge and video!
My husband has retired, and been at home for almost two years. He is the type of man that has to be busy, and so this crazy weather has kept him indoors lately. Guess what happened! He wanted to learn how to quilt, and now I am teaching him what I know. I have put together some kits from my fabrics, and so I cut one out for him. I chose the pattern "favorite things", because of the large pieces. Anyway, it came out beautiful and he is hooked. Wants to do another one, and this time he is cutting the fabric pieces out. I am kind of liking the break, and now I am getting to match up more of my fabric's. LOL I just love all of your video's. These one's are so fun to watch and to see everyone's take on fabric choices. I really liked John's motorcycle one, because I really don't do manly type quilts. I liked also that the #2 and #3 fabric's were to me sort of soft, and made the motorcycle fabric really stand out and pop. Great job everyone!!!!
I actually think I am going with John's for two reasons... I loved the motorcycles....great fabric and the ORANGE??? Wowza! I really need to see these done because it is hard to envision all these beautiful fabrics not placed directly into those quilts! Great choices John and ladies!
Each of you knocked it out of the park making these kits! My decor is more monochromatic so that I can add splashes of color with quilts, pillows, table clothes, placemats, etc. Donna's Renaissance and Aurora fabric selections are both wonderful. I have a great niece named Aurora and would love to make that quilt for her and I like to use quilts on my dining room table which I would like to make Renaissance for. John's motorcycle quilt is great and would be perfect for my husband. He has gone on many 2-week trips from Michigan out west as far as California with brothers and friends. Orange Delight would be perfect for my DIL (daughter in love) as her favorite colors are lime green and orange. Last but NOT least, Fran's Caribbean Vacation is stunning and I very much like how the #2 fabric has a similar "stitches" background to the #1 fabric and the #3 goes great too. The fabrics in Delightful Daisies grouping is perfect especially when I saw the close-ups of each one. Sorry for going on and on but all of these fabrics and patterns are stellar❣️ A shout out to Hannah as well!
What I really love about your patterns is I need 3 yards of fabric to make a quilt. If I go to the quilt shop for one thing and see something amazing I just need 2 more to go with it. Then later I can pick out the pattern.
My favorite pattern is Roman Holiday! I LOVE all 3 of the quilt color choices on Roman holiday from Donna, Fran & John, especially the Iron Horses quilt! I'm with Fran,....we LOVE the Caribbean, any island will do! :) But, I gotta say, having gone on Harley "road trips" that if on land instead of an island, a motorcycle road trip is a cool ride!
Your programmes are so inspiring! I have usually “played safe” with colours and designs but you have helped me so much to be more “adventurous “ can’t wait to make more 3 yard quilts. Very best wishes and thank you.
Hi Carolyn! You're in luck! You can find quilt images for most all of today's selections on our website when you click on one of the quilt kits. Hope that helps!
I loved the Daisy quilt! And John's orange quilt, but I think it would have looked great with green contrast rather than orange. All your patterns are so quick and easy!
M I'm a blue/green person too so loved Fran's Caribbean Vacation and Delightful Daisies. Also loved John's Orange colours. I would also have loved to see the computer mock-ups
Hi Lyn! You can find the quilt images on our website when you click on one of today's quilt kits, hope that helps! Sorry they didn't make it into the video today.
All these fabrics are great but I love John's orange choices! That will be an awesome quilt! Thank you to all at Fabric Cafe for sharing your many talents with fabrics, patterns & sewing tips.
You can see the mock ups on the website! There was a link that popped up each time they were showing their kit during the video or you can just find the kit on the website, and the mock up is in the set of photos for these kits!
I loved all the fabric choices today but my two favourites were “Iron Horses” and “Delightful Daisies” … I haven’t made the courtyard pattern up yet but today you have given me the inspiration to give it a go and Roman holiday is one of my go to patterns absolutely love it!! Thank you!!
Jubilee, waves, and valor are my favs. As a vet's wife I like them all. I can see some for Christmas, changing the blue to green and/or red to poinsettia or holly .
You all did a great job as always! My favorite Roman Holiday was John’s Iron Horses. For Courtyard I loved the Delightful Daisy’s. I haven’t made Courtyard yet but you have inspired me to search my stash and make it!
FUN Show!! Love it when Hannah gives you these challenges. You always come up with the best kits. All all these were great, but I really liked John's choices this time. As for where I want to go... England / British Isles 🇬🇧 is someplace I have always wanted to visit.
I just went to Egypt! Fabulous trip! I've made both of these patterns. I have all the books and the patterns are my go-tos for family and friends. Thanks!!
Delightful video! Thank you. Loved all your kits. If I had to pick just one, John's "Orange Delight" wins! But, I would love to see Fran's Daisy kit made up in my favorite pattern, "Roman Holiday"!
These are all amazing. I have made a few of your quilts. I think I have 7 of your books and love them all. Hopefully I will be able to find the fat quarter one at my local quilt stores.
I am a bright bold person that loves her flowers so Donna’s Renaissance caught my eye and heart. Kaffe prints are always bold and beautiful. I like quiet peaceful times in a cabin on a lake with a warm fire crackling as I do my needlework. I dream of Ireland but anywhere that has a lush landscape with views of trees and birds is beautiful. Sooooo you might say my farthest trips from home are found in a rocker on our back porch minus the lake view. Sure beats the traffic and gas guzzling these days. Thanks all!😊
I have now 4 of your books and Made some of you patterns. Cant wait to make more. I Love colours and flowers, but my absolute Favorit kit on your Tutorial today ist the Vintage motorcicle 💚🥰☀️😊 Thank you you are all greate
So glad to hear, Melanie! John's motorcycle combo was definitely captured a classic feeling with the grungy creams and blacks. Thanks for spending time with us today 😊
Thanks Patricia. We like to do these types of episodes so that we can get a real world reaction from all three of them on what they're thinking and why.
In no particular order - renaissance, daisies and iron horse. These two patterns have peaked my interest in trying it out. The images on the website is great!
Awesome! Glad you were able to find the images! When they don't make it on the show they almost always get posted online with the quilt kit. Spread the word! 😅
Seems like, again, I love John’s quilts! The motorcycle fabric is awesome! That would be perfect for a friend of mine. And, I love Frans’s daisy fabric choice. Love them all!
I just found your 3 yard quilts this week and have watched so many of your videos, that now when I am online looking at fabric I can't help but notice combinations of 3. Can't wait to give some of your patterns a try.
Hooray! So glad you found us, Laurie! Welcome to the 3-yard community! Yes, it really does change the way you look at fabric combinations and pieces when working on a project. 😊 Hope to see and hear from you in the comment sections!
I’m a ranch girl, so real horseback riding is my preference. However, that being said, I have to go with John’s “Iron Horses” as my pick because I live just 2 hours and 15 minutes from the USA’s motorcycle headquarters of Sturgis, South Dakota. John, I hope you get to saddle up and make that ride to Sturgis this year! And while you’re in our fair state, leave the crowds behind in the Black Hills and ride through some back country to witness the prairie vistas or even the Badlands.
Two favorites today, Iron Horses and Delightful Daisies. Crazy how different fabrics make the pattern look completely different. Thank you for sharing!.
