I live in OKC. Glad to hear about this fabric store. So many closed over Covid. You did a great job promoting the City. And the Edith HeD Collection is fabulous 👌 ❤ Thanks for popping up on my feed.
@@stacyrobbins next time you come - have lunch in the Plaza District (NW 16th just east of Pennsylvania). Grab the best burger on the planet at New State Burgers, and a slice of pie at Pie Junkie.
Stacy I just discovered your channel and enjoyed your video and seeing Oklahoma City.I was raised in The City but left for Texas for about 20 years and then back again. I learned some things from your video and the footage was so beautiful!!! My Grandmother and Great grandmother were seamstresses and I've tried myself but never was that good at it but it still holds a place in my heart. I inherited my Grandmother's Singer sewing machine and I cherish it. I definitely want to go to that fabric store. Those door knobs were awesome.Tkyou.Your dress and belt were very pretty!
Thank you! My grandmothers were both some of my early sewing teachers. I have special memories of showing my grandmother my wedding dress design and working on the pattern with her looking on and giving me suggestions. So special!
Hello from Tulsa also. Loved watching your video. It just popped up in my feed. I did not know about this fabric store in OKC so thank you! I hated when Hancocks closed.
Hellooo! I miss Hancock's too! I have so many memories of going to the Farm Shopping Center with my mom and sisters and spending hours looking at fabric and patterns.
A trip to North May is in my future to indulge on fabric and empty my bank account. What a great little travel log for those who don't know OKC. I didn't know about the Edith Head exhibition, so I'll be eager to see that video. Your fabric haul is beautiful and worthy of great envy. Thank you! Cheers from Norman!!!
I have lived in the OKC since my 20s and what a lovely video to pop up in my feed. I didn’t know about some of these fabric stores. Thank you for sharing! Now a subscriber.
One hint, pan the camera slower in the stores as it is so hard to not get dizzy with the fast and up and down panning. Give us a chance to see it then pan slowly and precisely to the next area. That being said, love you showing OKC, been here 19 years now.
Hi Stacy, just wanted to say LOVED the video and congrats on you and your husbands 32nd anniversary, cheers to many more and cant wait to see more from you!
I pass the Scissortail bridge 4-6 times a month - I never knew that was what it was called or what in the world it was supposed to be. The minute you said Scissortail bridge it made sudden sense! I've never seen it lit up at night ...
It is really neat lit up. It changes color. I know you can walk up there too but I haven't done it yet. The bridges are all nice in that area with updated insignia on the columns.
So I am scrolling through videos and see you! I think that looks like Stacy. I didn't know you had a channel. But I definitely remember all the incredible things you made when our girls were in dance at Ms Sarah's.
Hello!!! When we left Oklahoma for Kansas and the pandemic hit, I started making videos regularly. Isolation mixed with missing teaching - this filled the void for me. I hope you are all well.
This was the first video I came across this morning when I first opened RU-vid. I live in Bartlesville, and I am so glad to hear of that amazing fabric store. The scissor handles on the door were so cool. Thanks for sharing this!
Congratulations on you and hubby’s 32nd anniversary! ✨Wow, what a fabric store! I love the soft pink color on your sewing room walls🩷 The border fabric will be beautiful in that kimono like pattern💙 Just came across your channel this afternoon.
Thank you so much! Thank you for noticing the wall color. I researched what paint was the most flattering for filming in. 😅 The research said it was a soft pink called Tissue Pink By Benjamin Moore. I have two videos on the making of my dream sewing space if you are interested. I am excited to back to sewing and make that kimono top. I have so many projects in the line up! Sew with you soon!
I believe there is a fabric outlet north of Chouteau that I accidentally found years ago. Mostly drapery, upholstery fabrics, and decorative weight . Great prices.
Your channel just popped up on my feed, so great to hear about the fabric store in OKC. I have been sad since Helen Enox closed in OKC and J. Boyer in Tulsa. I was planning a trip to see the Edith Head Exhibit, now I can add fabric shopping as well! Thanks for the video
You just named two stores I miss so much. I worked at the Fabric Stash and Helen would come in to see my boss the owner. It was such a fun time with loads of creative people. Enjoy the Exhibit and shopping. You will be inspired!
This video just popped up. I am contemplating a move to OKC and was excited to see the fabric store you went to is very close to the area we are looking. Thank you!
I’m in Tulsa and have struggled with finding garment fabric stores. Somehow this place never popped up! Hope you enjoyed the Edith Head exhibit, I went a few weeks ago and had a great time.
One of the first things I did when we moved back to Tulsa was see if J Boyer was still open. 😅 I'm dating myself. I also looked for the PACC chapter I used to belong to. Both gone. I am so glad you got to see the exhibit. I am editing my video now.
@@stacyrobbins I’m in my mid twenties and only ever remember Hancock as a dedicated apparel fabric store. When they went out of business we shifted to the other, bigger chains. Even aside my big issues with Hobby Lobby, their fabric quality went down hill majorly. Joann had two locations then consolidated into one I have more trouble getting in and out of. It’s hard to find stuff for apparel up here. At least I love the quilt stores and can brave Joann for everything else for now.
@@mariadeal1244 I arrived in Tulsa just before the JoAnne consolidation. I mostly order online now but it's risky. I'm hoping to keep the OKC store open! Trying to send them business. 🧵
I'm also in Tulsa. Anytime need our want a sewing buddy? I hated it when we lost Hancock's & Joann's is so expensive that I can't really afford to go in there!! Y'all have a good weekend!!
Another fun video. I like your travel videos. Looking forward to the Edith Head video. I like the men's shirt pattern. Norris Dante Ford designs some really cool stuff.
Oh wow, I can see where they fixed those lights that were lined along the canal to be shorter since that one guy died when he grabbed one and fell into the water and got electrocuted and died. That was so sad.
They have done a few renovations. The landscaping and planters were so nice. I saw a news story where they were cleaning the canal and the amount of bicycles in there was crazy!
My wallet took a hit during that Joann online sale lol. I now have facing and batting to last several years though. I’ve been wondering if we had a non-quilt fabric store, looking forward to going.
I know! Interfacing is seldom on sale. It is an investment in future projects! If you visit the store let them know you saw the video. They were very nice about my filming etc. and were hoping it would get some new sewists in.
Just found your channel. Love the video and I live in OKC. I still have my parents’ beautiful Hawaiian shirts from the Big Island in 1977. I quilt and used to make some of our girls’ clothes back in the 1980’s. Glad to find your channel.
