Retired body man and small farmer. I love old leaf springs and trailer hitch receivers for home made 3 point implements for my compact Kubota. I was thinking leaf spring before you said it.
Nice work from one welder to another who has done those hold down brackets before and made the same kind of mistake- ish.I learned afterwards from a older farmer a nice trick get a piece of notebook paper and fold it in half place in between those piece it’s about .006. Which is perfect clearance.
