The duke of Leuchtenburg's daughter Josephine inherited the family sapphires. She was the Queen of Sweden (wife of King Oscar I), so they are now part of the royal jewels of Sweden. This is the same reason the Swedish royals are wearing the Connaught tiara: Margaret of Connaught married Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden, but died before he became king.
@@LJB103 The Connaught tiara was apparently called the Forget Me Not tiara by Princess Margaret of Connaught. The tiara given to her by her parents when she married and moved to Sweden features little forget me not flowers, such a darling motif for sentimental parents saying bye to their baby girl 🥺 It's a favorite of mine I wish the Swedish royal family had kept all of Queen Josefina's other important tiaras like the now Danish rubies she inherited from her mother in law Queen Desiree Clary-Bernadotte and the two tiaras Norway now has the all diamond tiara and the emerald and diamond one
