You have to put the seal in the opposite direction. When you put it like you do, then you stretch it. At lower temperatures the seal shrinks and is too short.
The glass unit must have a space between the layers of glass. Two glass units are joined using special T-shaped connectors. After that, the joints are filled with structural silicone.
