Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 wins. Front and rear lockers, Full digital dash, Multimatic spool valve suspension, Waaaay more power, and priced right in between the Tacomas at 50k.
Don’t hear much about the sr5 it’s all about the tro or Trd I’ve got a 2023 sr5 4wd does everything I want it to do just do a little hunting and fishing does great . Not rock crawling or desert running just saying this truck needs a little recognition had 4wd all my life I’m 61 and to me this is a beast for the average person
I'd say either is a good choice. I'm more of the Off Road Pkg guy. The Pro is a terrific package..we bought my wife a new 4Runner TRD Pro one year ago (Lime Rush) - she loves it! She's more flashy than me - hahah! I own a 2019 Tacoma Off Road (Calvary Blue) - bought it new Jan 19. I now have 213K miles on my truck...trouble free miles! A lot of those miles are in 4WD!! I can personally attest to the reliability of these vehicles...they handle well in town, out of town and everywhere (you decide to go ) in between!!
I just picked up a 23 TRD Off road about 3 weeks ago and after watching this with everything that I have on mine is everything that a Pro has except the fox shocks, skid plate and badging.
For a couple grand more, you could've got the pro. But on the other hand not alot of people have the trd pro because there's not that many of them out there.
@@samochoa6733 Trust me I know. The difference is that the one I got had just been delivered and was ready to go. The dealer I dealt with have 3 PROs coming in but they are still about a month out, and I am already paying enough for this one lol.
On my 23 TRD Off Road, I’ve got the 6’ bed, leather, sunroof, satellite view, front and side cameras, LED Lights etc. The only plug that I don’t have is the TRD PRO suspension. The window sticker on my Off Road was $55K , but I bought it for $48K.
TRD off road with all the bells and whistles available one still saves about 5000 when all the numbers are tallied. Only exception being the shock suspension set up, but one off road has is already very good!
I finally SUBBED after watching you for month's. Lol, seriously I love your enthusiasm and sense of humor. Just picked up a '23 TRD PRO 4X4, at LONGO here in So. Cal, didn't pay a penny over that ridiculous mark up they still have at many Dealerships. Longo is the nation's #1 volume Dealer years running
I got a 2020 TRD Off-Road 4x4 with the advanced technology & luxury package for $44k out the door last year w/ 9k miles in mint condition. I got every feature of the TRD Pro in my taco, even the TRD skid plate. Don’t have the fox suspension of course but the bilstein suspension is already so good. So in my case, all the TRD Pro is for me is a TRD Off-Road appearance package with fox suspension. I do very intense off-road activities and overlanding with my off-road and am perfectly comfortable. I also do not want a hood scoop. So a year later, TRD OR still wins for me. Not to say the Pro isn’t badass. That’s a damn good truck. But not really necessary especially considering the off-road can do pretty much everything a Pro can do.
I picked up my absolutely perfect version the TRD off-road with the premium package and six foot bed in Lunar Rock! I’ll admit that I am a little jealous of those beautiful red upper control arms but I love the soft ride of my OR. Jeff, your videos definitely helped me make the decision on which Toyota Pickup to purchase! You’re worth you’re weight in gold for Toyota! Thanks!
If you're buying the Tacoma with the technology 📦 & premium 📦 you can almost buy a Pro for that price... I think it's best to go with the off-road that's more basic you can save a lot of 💰... With options you'll be up to $46,000 real quick. Basic package you're right about 41,000 but you still get 4X4, locking differential & crawl control.
Your correct on that. For a couple bucks more I'll take the pro and leave it alone. Not change anything to it. there's not that many trd pros out there.
I want the TRD pro seats in the access cab with a lift kit and the manual transmission I wish there were an option to have a standard cab manual 4x4 with an 8 foot box
Love my '21 tacoma trd Off road with 6 speed manual in army green. Best truck. That octane and lime green is to gaudy for me. Keep the army green. Peace.
I picked up myself a TRD Off road and I’m really happy with it! It has most of the TRD Pro has except the badging, leather seats and the fox shocks but all else is great! I love my TRD off road
I had a 2022 TRD oof-road manual (premium and conseil safe) in lunar rock. Now I am getting into a 2023 TRD off-road (premium, front camera, and rock crawl mode) in Electric Lime.
I’m loving my ‘23 TRD PRO in Ice Cap white so far with tint and clear protective film that I removed all of the exterior badging on the doors and tailgate. I don’t recall if you mentioned the subwoofer or TRD exhaust on these. The rear door speakers are garbage and I wasn’t too happy with the engine and gearing when I first started driving it with 3 miles on the odo back in January; now after 1500+ miles it’s more responsive, but I will get a tune eventually. The infotainment system and several other amenities are sub-par even compared to my wife’s 2020 Grand Cherokee, but I absolutely love the looks of these trucks!
My local toyota dealers have no problem allocating trd off roads. Any configuration. But when it comes to trd pros theres a 1 year wait and usually there's 3 people already on the waiting list. All that a side and for a couple bucks more I'll pick the trd pro.
If it so happens that a customer needs to special order a tacoma with a manual transmission, and the general waiting period is around 6 months, would we run into any problems with order fulfillment considering they need to start production of the 2024 model year soon? Or will orders be available for 2023's for the rest of this year regardless of the 6 month wait window? Say for example I want to order a 2023 Taco TRD OFF ROAD with a 6 speed manual, around September or October............would I still be able to do that that close to the end of the year? It's because I want a manual taco and the 2024's likely aren't going to be available in manual, so I plan to get a 2023. I hope I can still do that.
i just put a deposit on a manual pro yesterday, (April 10) and was told that it will be available mid may. it was hell locating it as well (white trd pro manual trans), so if you really want one, dont wait. i was told Toyota allocates them to dealers and you get what they have in regards add ons.
I just got the trd off road I love everything about it but I would really like if it had the same folding back seats, hood and shocks as the trd pro but I'm still super happy with my truck but if I could I would definetly switch out all those things
Now for a serious question. With the release of ‘24 Tacoma…who would buy a ‘23 now? I will buy TRD OR only if I can get at dealer invoice and no dealer installed options, gimmick products. I am ready when you are. Just let me know.
The PRO has the superior ride...off road and on road....not even close. I've had BOTH. If your just gonna go aftermarket...get the cheapest 4x4 tacoma you can find.
Pro! The Tacoma TRD Pro has caught my eye for the last month. Considering buying one but not sure how I will like going from a full size Ram Rebel to a mid size truck.
@@steve9348 I really like the Tundra. Problem I’m having is getting one that’s not priced several thousand above MSRP. Same problem we ran into when we bought my wife a 2023 4Runner TRD Pro last week.
No, definitely do not want the pro. I’m Wayover sunroofs I didn’t want Z specialty fox suspension I don’t actually care for the TRD Pro grill like it seems most people really love it. I don’t care for the rigid fog, lights or the hood scoop or leather. I do like a lot of the other features of the pro though, the 1.5 inch lift kit height and the colors.
Off road, no need to spend over 50k and basically have the same truck. Same engine, same transmission, same offroad equipment. Fox shocks are great but not 10k great.
TRD Off-road is the best and they better keep it in the new one. Savings can go for better off-road components King Suspension uca upgrade etc. The upper control arms from Toyota were offered YEARS later not in the early ears of the pro which sucks if you bought those years. The pro should’ve came with HP difference for the price
I hate the 5ft bed they need a 6ft or 6.5ft why not have the option? I decided to not get a Toyota due to their 5ft only option on their TRD PRO model.
Jeff I want the Toyota hilux or the LC70 !! Bring it to North America . Toyota century is the best luxery car ever made I wish you could review those or provide insights !!
im going with trd off road. Another 10 grand for fancy shocks, leather, jbl speakers just not worth it to me. plus i think the trd pro looks like its trying to hard. just my opinion.
OFF ROAD has all the bells and whistles you would ever need. TRD PRO is just wasting money. Edit: neither. A SR5 4x4 V6 is just as capable as the higher trims. Most of these will be driveway queens anyway. Will never see dirt in their lives.
I am having a real hard time comprehending what the real practical differences are that warrant a $10K difference? Hood scoop? ewww. Leather seats? Ouch. .5" lift in the back? seriously? Camera upfront? Really? Moon roof? HELLO!! TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS difference for the same vehicle with a few 'comfort' features?
I’m just gonna put everything to rest now with all of this talk. 90% of people do not even use a $40-$60,000 investment for offloading. So somebody please try to sell me on why you need to get a Trd pro. I’m just curious why you don’t geta limited because most people are not going to go off Roading
Silver is the ugliest color if u call it that. And color wise i would wait till the off road comes in solar octane the following year with a long bed configuration. Simple. The pro is just badges and cosmetic looks. Fox shocks arent all that. I would install some KINGS
Over $40k for small pick up truck, bare bone vehicle with 1980 rear brake system.!! Who pays for these things these prices??. We certainly living in the end time
