Thank you Billy and Don for this story and your insights. Such an inspiring adventure. When we do hard things is when we learn the most about ourselves and grow the most. Glad you are both safe.
In 95 my cousin and I did 5 week trip to the The Sagwon River east of the Brooks range for caribou then went west of the Brooks range to Coldfoot jumped into the river went down river for moose and wolf. Our trip turned out very adventurous, sunk boats, lost gear and struggled to stay alive. What a carichtor building time. I lost 42 lbs on that trip. The Lord Blessed us and brought us back home again. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing. You were very blessed on this adventure to. I could have never let go of anybody either it is how we are wired.
Thank you Billy for such great videos. Thanks for sharing the great adventures of Alaska. I'm 77 and still hoping I am able and can get a hunt with you yet. I have watched every video you have put out. I have a few medical problems to get over, but I will come to you just for the scenery & pictures even if in a wheelchair. God Bless Everybody....I send Love & Light for All I AM LIGHT, I AM LOVE, I AM TRUTH, I AM !! A Spiritual Being in a Human Experience !!
I’m so moved and inspired by the moral character of every person involved in this multiple life changing experience. From the single mom raising four young children after the tragic death of her husband to the hunters overcoming their own demons and of course the heroically humble guide . I have had the misfortune to be the last face seen by someone after a tragic, fatal event and have also been blessed to have been at the right place and time for god to work through me to help save another. I pray that I can continue to surround myself with such exemplary men and women such as these and others. So much to learn and emulate. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. God bless you all .
I've watched ALOT of hours of youtube hunting videos. This was the only one that made me tear up. I'm 28 years old, not sure if Billy will still be guiding when I make my way north, but if he is I'm going with him. Incredible!
Incredible story and thanks for sharing Billy. You’re words about facing fear are so true - I can’t believe how long in life it took me to figure that out - but I’m grateful I have. Every time we look fear in the face we grow - and you said it best - if we’re not growing, we’re dying. Better to life 30 years of adventure than 100 years safe in a corner.
Thank you MDMM Billy M, for sharing these on you tube. It’s the only way I will ever get to see the side of Alaska, that interest me s a hunter and outdoors man, as it should be instead of a show on tv that only shows the good of a hunt. Billy M MDMM is the kind of man that helps hold this world together ( thank you and god bless you all) 👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
I have watched video after video how you take responsibility for the people you guide...you are an amazing person. God is with you every time you go out on an adventure. May the Angel's continue to watch over you Billy. I have much admiration for what you do.
I’ve just started watching Billy’s hunting videos..... I like how you adjust the hunt to accommodate the ability of your hunters. Don... you are a brave soul for throwing yourself into that hunt..... love the Directors cuts at the end... “ how many shots ....I want this on camera”
@Jim Currie this is the first video of his I watched. Quite the story. I was just going to tell you to check out How to Hunt on RU-vid also. His name is Steve and he has some good ones. Grizzly encounters and Sasquatch.
I know this is an older video .I just watched it, and I listened to the story you guys were telling, and it's got me crying like a baby! You saved his life and risked yours to do it! Awesome Billy! I just wanted to tell ya.....
Your such a inspiration ,your hunting trip with Ron was ment to be ,it was a divine appointment, and Ron thought it was a hunting trip , he fulfilled a long time hunting dream but more importantly he grew as a man and became a better man because of this trip we serve a awesome God
That is a trip none of you will forget. Billy, you are an exceptional guide. If my husband and I ever get to do a hunt in Alaska we want you to be our guide. Glad everything turned out okay.
so true to face your fears great joy and courage even laughter comes to do even more. 50+ years in Alaska fondest memory with my Son was facing off our first Griz bluff we speak of it every time we meet. Glad your all safe.
Wonderfully done. Great encouragement during these times. There's days are filled with fear but we must gain courage to move forward. This is the best hunting film I've seen.
Thank god for moms like Dons, and thanks to all the moms that are doing their best for who they love. Keep up the good fight for those you care for today, tomorrow may be to late. God bless everyone who had a hand in this story for us all to learn from and enjoy. Thanks to Don J. MDMM Billy M. And their families 👍🇺🇸
I really enjoyed this vlog story. Really tells the story we face in Alaska on every adventure. It can be a life and death choice many times in an hunt. Thank you Billy
Thanks for sharing the hunt, I pushed my uncle like that this year doing the same thing and it almost turned out bad too. But we made it through the terrible few minutes. He is terrified of water also. Your a awesome man Billy and super person and don’t know you but through your videos what we see is alone hell of an amazing man. Good luck this coming seasons and thanks again for the videos.
God is good. Thank you God for the gravel bar. Thank you God for Billy. Thank you God for being able to experience these great adventures from the comforts of my living room.
What a truly challenging hunting trip... the best kind! Billy, having strong faith always helps guide us through our most difficult endeavors however impossible they may seem! Keep that faith!
Don, man, I am so utterly proud of you, stepping into that river, knowing you might not come out the other side, that had to be horrifying. On top of everything, you lost your 270!!! I have a 270, a Rem model 700BDL. I have hunted whitetail with it since 1969, killed over 50 deer since way back then. If I lost it would be awful, but your attitude was "I can buy another rifle" so proud of you Don, you are the man. Billy, proud of you too, thank you for keeping your guys safe. My heart was in my throat living this hunt through this video, thank you Billy for documenting and sharing with us all. Jay from Pa.
Great video Billy! God was definitely with you all. As a hunter and in every day life we confront our fears. You are correct...there in no way to conquer those fears without taking them head on, learning from it, and turning 8t into a positive.
That was a great storie, i can truly understand Dons feelings about the rivercrossing because i am too a really bad swimmer. Big thanks for all the great films and stories you put up here on youtube Billy.
I know how that guy feels, my grandfather was a hunter of the highest order and I never hunted with him a day in my life. He died at 53 and I miss him every day. I have hunted Alaska since 2016 every year and I bought a place up there. I really wish he was around to hunt with me at least once. 😢
As I kept watching, I started to feel as though this might be the best video I've ever seen. I cried three times and talked to GOD. Thank you Billy. Thank you, Chris Garland, Tacoma Wa.
last time I went caribou hunting it changed my life also. I left wasilla around 0300, got to Cantwell a couple hours later and stopped at the Chevron for a last coffee and fuel up. My teenage daughter was with me and decided to get the Bomb burrito. Back on the Denali Hwy and an hour later she shit her pants... Changed my life forever. She stunk so bad I started gagging and ended up puking all over the side of the truck... I will never eat or allow a passenger to eat a Bomb burrito before a bumpy trip. After she changed her clothes we shot our caribou just off the road within the hour. We were back to Wasilla that night. The Bomb almost ruined the trip.
Such an amazing story. Not everyone would of shared this for fear of what others would think. It speaks to the honor and courage you have to be able to tell this story. What a hunt and adventure!! God bless you Billy!!! Thanks for sharing...love your videos!!
Billy, you are an extraordinary human. My dad always said you can count on one thing besides taxes, extraordinary people surround themselves with extraordinary people.
Thank you for sharing your experience, both of you! I can't image how scary that was. One question Billy, have you ever guided in the Yukon? Greetings from Norway
Don you are an amazing man buddy and you make me happy knowing men like you exist. Billy you are a true warrior bud and the worlds a better place with you in it.
Billy i love it how you are always encouraging and complimentary in the best of times and the worst of times regardless if the quarry is the best or just mediocre. Not everybody comes after Mr. giant but its the experience that we all are after.
Enjoyed your story. Reminded me of a trip with a dear departed friend of mine. I took him on a fishing trip to my property on the west coast of British Columbia. To keep it short. We caught a ton of Salmon, Sea Bass and Dungeness crab, and what was to be a 2 1/2 return boat trip, turned into a voyage from hell, which nearly cost both of us our lives. When we finally were home. Ron told his wife Rita, what had happened, she did not take it well and tore a strip off me to the bone. "how dare I nearly kill her husband and put him in harms way"! She was mad for a fair while, tragically, Ron fell from a roof 3 years later and was killed. She has forgiven me now and said that that trip with me was the most memorable journey and moment of his life. She used a picture of Ron and I from that trip, and a horseback Mule deer and Goat hunting trip I took him on with me at his Celebration of Life/Wake. RIP Ron my dear Friend.
Another great film, thanks for sharing. Brings back memories of a trip my dad and I did to Alaska in '97, we got into a tight spot and almost didn't make it home. I think about that trip a lot
Hey Billy, another Christian brother here, appreciate these vids, I’ve done a couple these trips up into the Alaska Range for sheep, moose and griz. It is exactly how you depict it in your films, adventurous, uncertain and adrenaline filled. Good job brother
Quick story. On an alaska hunt I had my guide try to make me cross a swolen river. Nothing like that, absolutely over our heads with debris rushing by. It was a death sentence. I refused. I've never told a guide no before or since, but im glad I did that day. Days later the outfitter came got us by boat. When the guide complained about my refusal to cross 2 days ago I found out my outfitter had a stern temper. The guide no longer works there and I couldn't have been treated any better the rest of the trip. Good outfit. Not saying anything bad about Billy. Just had that experience i wanted to share. Water and weather in Alaska is a bigger danger than bears in my opinion.
Hey Billy, awesome. Thank you for sharin this with us. I'm thankful for your faith in the Lord Jesus and the testimony you are for His sake. God bless, Miles
Hey, you and billy made it through and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, learn from it but don't dwell on what could have happened because it didn't. I've been there and everyday I smile to myself because I'm still here. Always great films from Mr Molls, please keep them coming. CBS from England.
Billy’s so inspirational, everything he does is to perfection, one thing I gotta do in this life time is a hunt with billy !! Great hunt guys, congrats on a great time as well ✌️🙏🇨🇦
I loved that story! Life experience, words of wisdom and reflection. Thanks guys! I'm glad you are all safe. I'm going to share this with my dad and brothers.
