You, as an owner have to be able to get into your dogs safe zone if need be. My dogs might growl over a good piece of food but they'd never bite me even if I invaded their space while they have that piece of food and even took it from them

Going from I've seen in my career(canine behaviour and psychology) up until this point. It won't end well. It never does. One of several things always happens... the dog is going to get hurt and not back down when the owner or vet tries to treat him, the dog is is going to come across a child and the child is not going to know how to handle this dog... or the dog is simply going to age, and have its patience reach a breaking point. I've seen this same damn so many times it becomes exhausting... I've reached the point where if a client comes to me and they have done this sort of "training" I tell them to piss off and I hope the dog mauls them in their sleep. Honestly I don't know when people are going to wake up and smell the outdated, incorrect, 70 year old crap pile that is pack theory. Robert Schenkel... God that guy has made the lives of tens of millions of dogs a living nightmare. Yeah he retracted his research paper very quickly to try reverse the damage he had done but still, it was out there and the damage had been done... he spent the rest of his life fighting his own research.

Of this dude here had been training him with this sort of approach, Bear would have either bitten his face off already, be completely terrified and mistrustful or just straight up disobey, but he doesnt, because theres trust. Dominance as a lot of people understand it doesnt create trust.

No. No I didn't; the whole point of breeds is the fact that certain traits are baked in, and you have to work around those traits when you train them. Rottweilers are naturally more aggressive than a lot of other dog breeds, including Goldies, so you have to work around that and adjust accordingly. Dogs can have their own personal quirks, but instinct kicks in regardless.

I wouldn't do that with my dogs now, they'll go with me wherever I move, but I didn't really have any other options back then. He loved them though, and he lived the rest of his life in doggie heaven on earth. 🙂

@@saltydinonuggies1841 mutts can resolve issues from one of the breeds or at least lower the risk. i have a Pug Boston terrier. He doesn’t have short stocky Legs. He isn’t oo heavy for his size. Hes at higher risk for cataract bt his snout is longer and so he doesn’t have as much issues breathing. Aside from going blind he’s healthy. This isn’t going to be true for all breeds. Bt some mixes can reverse the bad shit that creating Purebreds has done. My dog has onlyone skin fond on his body that doesn’t stay folded Unless he’s sitting. So he doesn’t eat bacterial infections. And his snout looks more like the Pugs was years ago before the shorter snout was bred into them. it’s not a perfect mixture. He still has issues and most will have issues. Bt he’s doing better than he would be if he was completely Pug
