At the moment, I am just starting with Dropshipping and I found this scaling guide of yours. I would like to know if today, in 2023, you still test your creatives and audiences in the same way. If you still do it the same way, could you clarify some doubts I have? 1- during creative testing, do you segment the audience manually or do you leave it entirely up to the algorithm? 2 - Still on creative testing, should I select engagement with what? Hey, a broad interest would be "beauty" whereas a more targeted interest would be a brand or a celebrity in that niche.

Thanks Jorge! Great content. In audience testing phase you mentioned to replace unprofitable ad sets with new interests. By replacing you mean a) turn off not working interest ad sets and add new interest under the same CBO? b) turn off not working interest ad sets and make a new CBO with new interests? Or something else! Thanks in advance :)

Thanks a lot for the info. u made it easy to test products. I have 2 questions: 1. should I use detailed target optimization in interest targeting? 2. what is the daily budget for Engagement ABO? I knew I should let it run until it hits 5000 impressions.

Hey, thank you for your feedback! 1. Given the chance no, but it is gradually becoming mandatory since facebook is removing the option to select/deselect DTE and making it the choice by default. Not to worry since this feature has drastically improved in performance recently. 2. Up to you, as long as it gets you to 5000 impressions within a reasonable preriod of time. I suggest 10$/day.

This video showed up in my RU-vid suggestion and I really liked it. Great content Gorge. I have a question. I am selling a $20 product on my ecom store. Started a Purchase campaign 2 days ago. Up till now I have 68 visitors to the site, 2 orders, 3 Add to Carts. The budget per ad set is $18 and total 4 ad sets running. My cost per item is around $14 and the ads have already 'eaten' at least $110 so far, with only 2 purchase ($40 value). Should I keep them running or should I stop them and see something else? Am confused!

I wouldn't make decisions before 3 days of running, at least, since you have to give it a chance to optimize. I would have to have a closer look to give you my detailed opinion but from what you're saying it sounds like it will be hard to find a profitable audience within these adsets.

Awesome content Jorge! I have a few questions. When you say use ABO for testing the creatives, I assume the budget doesn't matter really much as long as you get those 5.000 impressions. Usually, how long does it takes for you to achieve this and how many $ per adset on average? I'm about to test a new product and I wanted to run conversions right away but I'll give a shot at this strategy... I'm a little bit impatient although haha.

Hello, thanks very much for the information! I'm just wondering, so you're interest testing with your top 2 creatives, does that mean each adset has both creatives in it? And is that like a split test of those 2 creatives or something?

Hey there! Glad to have you here. No, a split test would implicate giving both creatives equal chances to succeed in equal conditions. Two creatives inside an adset means you're giving Facebook two different options to distribute to your audience in whichever way the algorithm believes to be optimal to get you results.

Hi Jorge, Thanks so much for this! Been following your stuff from the start. This is exactly how I am going to test my products. You explain it the best and I want to start with creatives first. However, I have a question with testing in regards to "keeping the pixel warm". I have 3 products I want to start testing and one of them is ready (landing page, creatives, copy). So there are 2 scenarios I can do: 1) I can Start testing my 1 ready product right now. But if it does not work it will take me a couple of weeks later to test the 2nd, then another 2 weeks for the 3rd product etc, because I am shooting creatives and preparing the landing pages as I go. I'm worried this test > stop > test > stop will keep my pixel from learning. Or 2) Should I prepare all 3 products (landing page, creatives etc) to test one immediately after the other so the pixel never gets "cold"? I ask because EcomKing talks about how important a "warm pixel" is, but I just want to start testing already. Thank you for the great content. Hope you can share your thoughts on the above. Kenji

Hi Kenji, testing has litte to no impact when it comes to the pixel. Its very low volume so it hardly has an impact. Pixel data starts to be relevant when you’re at scale - could be low scale for a long time or high scale within a short time.

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback. 1) whichever fits your desired daily spending since the only difference that it will make is how fast you get to 5000 impressions. 2) no, no minimum spend for scaing, we already validated those audiences during testing so we want to let the algorithm decide.

What budget do you suggest to test the audiences during the CBO campaign, as my product is offered for $120 (this is a discounted price)? after we duplicate the winning interest to CBO for scaling, should we turn it OFF inside the testing CBO campaign? Also for testing new interests, should we create a new adset inside the testing CBO campaign or replace interest inside failed adset in the same CBO test camp?

Yes there is, but that would be a high budget strategy since there are a lot of variables to test. I'm working on a tutorial for a high budget Facebook strategy, will be out before the end of the year!

You can run with one creative and do well but it's all about increasing your chances. That's why you want to test at least a few creatives to ensure that your campaign results are meaningful.

Damn bro, I'm stuck and couldn't scale. The "don't touch what's working" thing I keep hearing on RU-vid costed me a boat load of money - because my campaigns seem to only perform the first day (very profitably btw + the product itself is a validated winner). So how to deal with this depressing issue? If you could give me kind of a rule of thumb as to "when after the 1st purchase I should cut an adset", I'd really appreciate it. Because currently no matter how many days I run these profitable adsets, they just don't get another sale.

Hey Jorge, I have 2 questions: 1. When you talk about engagement campaign, you mean by post engagement in engagement campaign. Right? 2. For the testing phase, kamil’s always says that don’t use CBO campaign for testing, as all his testing strategies are in ABO campaign. May I know the reason of using CBO campaign here for testing?

1. Yes. 2. As I mentioned in the video, this is aimed at people with a limited budget so the CBO is meant to allocate the budget to whatever is profitable as early as possible. Kamil does have quite a few testing strategies that include CBO testing.

Nope, I'd say you can go as high as 100-200M. Depends on your product's mass market appeal though.

Thanks for the content! I have a question about horizontal scaling. If I have a good adset, I duplicate it several times and after 4 days I pack the best duplicate into Scaling Cbo. Is what I'm doing right?

Hey Jetz, thank you, I appreciate the support! You can do that or you can duplicate a few times (4-5) right away into a scaling CBO, both are fine. The most important thing is only duplicating (scaling) when the adset gives you good results and consistency, don't scale too early or that will be a potential waste of money.

Hey Jorge, Alright, thanks for the information! I also have difficulties with testing/scaling structure. Only these two structures are mentioned on RU-vid, but I don't know which is the right one. could you tell which structure is better of the two. Structure 1: In the beginning you do normal ABO testing and after 4 days we duplicate the best ads and increase the budget by 20%. The bad ones get killed. For each duplicate, the target group is changed (horizontally) to test multiple target groups in the testing phase. New creatives are tested every 4 days. After the product is up and running, you go into the scaling phase and put all the good ad sets in Push CBO. Structure 2: After 4 days you simply duplicate the best ad sets several times without changing the target group and increase the budget by 20% each time. After 4 days we pack the best duplicates into Push Cbo and increase the budget by 30% every 7 days. At the same time, new interests are tested. This method assume tho that people who engage the most are also the ones who will be buying our product? Is that a fair assumption to make? Why not perform testing on conversion campaign?

He explains its more Expensive But more accurate. Engagement is cheaper But not as accurate. Chances are tho, if people that engage with content engages with Your ad, Buyers Will also like That ad. Its just That the Engagers are not potential buyers per se.

In audience tests, the 10 adsets with 10 interest, which of the two winning ads do i use? Or do i just pick one and use for the 10 adsets.

Your best-performing ad or your 2 best performing ads if you have 2 with very similar performance at the top.

No, all the interests in the scaling campaign are already validated so we just let the algorithm decide.

Hey Kan, you don't need minimum spend on ABO campaigns, they will always attempt to spend the budget that you set.

My another question about that your ABO Audience Testing Strategy I watch all of your videos you tell that when we start 10 different audience in ABO testing $75 Daily and at least $5 for each AD SET we should turn off if after spend $5 and not get 1 Add To Cart. But sometimes ABO company spend 7-8-10 usd to one interest and get zero Add To Cart. We should create “Automatic Rules” for this? When Amount spend greater than $5 if it didn’t Add To Cart close ad set. And we continue testing different audience right?

Hi Jorge! I have a question. What if the scale CBO is profitable, but I have an ad set with 0 sales, do I leave it as is or turn that one off? (CBO has been running for 2 days)

Usually the algorithm picks that up and reduces spend on those ad sets automatically. Both ways of doing it are viable though. You can try to turn off the unprofitable ad sets and see how the campaign reacts, 2 days is too early though, I would give it at least 3.
