My brother moved to Alaska and almost sent a deposit to rent a place that wasn’t really for rent. He got the father-in-law to check it out- saved that deposit.

Retired auto tech of 40 years. A common technique is the front or rear "clip" where they take a badly damaged vehicle, slice the broken end off, and graft the undamaged end of a junked car onto it. Professional body shops can do this well and it was hard to find evidence when we KNEW it had been done on a given car. Hack shops also do this and the welds and workmanship are so poor (and bondo'd over like icing a cake) that I'd be afraid to drive fast over railroad tracks or speed bumps lest the car split into two. I've seen salvage title cars I'd pay near top dollar for, and "clean" title cars that had no business whatsoever on the road. Caveat Emptor- Buyer Beware. One last thing, learn where to look for VINs stamped into the car body, don't rely on just the windshield badge.

My daughter had her wedding dress that was never worn on Facebook. She had 3 people say they wanted it but wanted to send her $50 then the rest after she mails the dress. I told her hell no!

Yep. I’ve sold a lot of items on Facebook and I stick to a couple simple rules. Ignore any profile that’s less than a few years old. Only take payment IN PERSON when the are picking up the item. I will not take a deposit to hold the item which gives the buyer a sense of urgency to get it if they are real. Those rules have dogged countless scammers.

Almost got got at dealership. Bring your calculator and prepare to ask a lot of questions and double check the numbers IRT. FYI The DMV does not charge you twice the fees. Know your local fees and costs.

My Facebook selling rules: 1. Never take a payment to hold the item. Tell them it’s first come first serve, so better come soon if you want to buy it and pay in person. 2. Ignore anyone with a Facebook less than 2 or 3 years old.

Same with puppy buyers!!! So many people looking for puppies get scammed on the deposit thing. It’s common to do deposits for a puppy and they’ve ran with it! Ask for references and to video chat!

My mother in law actually went to see an apartment that was listed on Craigslist, had a walkthrough and the woman told her to cashapp her the deposit.when it was time to send the rental agreement to my mother in law, she kept asking for more money. We sat in the driveway waiting for this woman to bring the contract and she just kept making excuses. After a while I had to leave but, there was a woman who drove up to the apartment and took our picture!! Turns out, that woman lived down the street and was scamming people with her friend and her friends apartment! It was crazy

I've bought things on Fb here and there being choosy, I've been ghosted after messaging folks for an item, too. Fb marketplace is the type of media that if you're ready to buy something there, you better be able to throw that money away just as easily if it fails when you get it home.... AND the personal safety factor is huge. Stay alert!

You can get scammed selling things as well they say I'll send the money too you and send my friend too pick up the item only to have the transaction disputed and pulled from you after they collect

Hi all. So I am at my dealership - Honda- getting an oil change. I walked around the lot and saw it's full of vehicles. I spoke to a salesman because I am hoping to be able to buy a vehicle within the next month (hopefully!)....but I made it clear I didn't want to waste his time as for now I'm just looking and waiting on the service of my car. I prefer to buy used....so I asked him. He said he had about half the lot as used vehicles....and the lowest price is $20000 because BANKS WILL NOT FINANCE CARS BELOW THAT PRICE TAG. .....I told him that should the time arise, I would be paying for the car outright....and then he said that AUTOMATICALLY THERE WOULD BE A $1000 PREMIUM ADDED TO THE COST BECAUSE THAT WOULD OFFSET THE INCOME FROM THE FINANCING WHICH WOULD NOT BE ATTACHED TO THE NEW PURCHASE ( if it even happens).... So I thought I'd share the above....

That literally happen to me. I wanted a trailer and they put it for a good price and when i send the person the request, they responded to me that it was available and that they were not in town but if i give them a deposit, they would hold it for me and put it as sold. that is when the light bulb kicked in. you don't know me, I don't know where you live, and you want me to send you money. no thanks.

I own my own repair shop for 19 years, but I've been flipping cars since the late 80s, early 90s. Maybe it's from years of experience or common sense, but it's hard for me to fathom how people fall for these scams. I've only lost my ass on 2 vehicles, one was 03 X5 that pissed me off so bad I sold it for half what it booked for because I put 32 hours into it, spent $550 on parts and $340 on specialty tools (damn VANOS). More recently, a 13 ford fukc azz.I like how some of these scammers put "only $1.0000 for a $40 vehicle." But yet still people fall for that.

I am unsubscribing from your channel. You keep lighting up as a newly released vid every 10 minutes. Same video for several days (which is fine) highlighted as new every 10 minutes. Sorry. I like your channel, but you are wasting WAY too much of time repeatedly pushing a vid I watched several days ago.
