Seeing an alien flex in Mortal Kombat is something I never hope to see again.

I like how certain games where you are badass give you the chance to grab and yeet off the facehugger before the insta-kill

I'm generally not a fan of instant kill attacks. If they can be countered, I have less of an issue with them but still, I find them to be a cheap way to establish tension and challenge. So yeah, I don't like how Facehuggers can instant kill you in most of these games. I favor how Facehuggers work in Aliens vs. Predator 2010, Aliens Infestation, and hell, even Aliens: Colonial Marines. They either don't kill you instantly (unless you play on higher difficulties in AVP 2010) or can be countered with a button prompt while still feeling like a significant threat. I really like Alien Resurrection's implementation of Facehuggers though. It looks really interesting while still being lore accurate. They don't instant kill you but rather instead once they implant the embryo into the player character, you have to get rid of the embryo before the timer runs out. I think that's pretty neat.

I still remember back in the days, when I was playing for the first time AVP 1999 and I encountered my first Facehugger. I jumped and kicked the table on which my pc was and everything moved away from me a few inches. Since than, every time when I play any kind of Alien or AVP game, the first Facehugger encounter makes me jump. I think I have a Facehugger ptsd :D

I wish someone would dub that line from Anchorman over the facehugger as it leaps, "LETS MAKE A BABY!"

1:28 - 4:30 NGL... I think this AvP2 (2001) game aged really well. Even by today's graphic standards, it would still pull its own weight! 🙂

I remember that first one from '94 (Atari Jaguar). The game was seriously ahead of it's time, and scared the hell out of me! Sadly, the Jaguar had terrible marketing, like the awesome 3DO system (even if load times were slow). Then the first Resident Evil scared the shit out of me, with headphones and the lights off. Good stuff.

Facehuggers would be pretty easy to deal with if you had full face helmets.

For the time they were released, those games look really good.
